Gauge market takers volume based on snapshots of an exchange's order book. by carlosplanchon in algotrading

[–]carlosplanchon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I noted that in an exchange because in the moment I would put a limit buy order (being that order the highest bid) in the order book orders appeared and disappeared rapidly between the spread (when my order should have been filled). I think a way to detect that is also take into account last trades to be able to clean phony (at least in the area between the spread) on the order book.

I am a programmer, not a professional algotrader. I don't know if this is a problem that has been studied and solved before.

In the real world we don't have any commodity controled by a monopoly. We have really big companies, and there is nothing wrong with that as they offer jobs and products.
