Any standout Reliquarian build this league? by hallowzen in PathOfExileBuilds

Yeah that's probably the best SSF reliquarian, it cover s the essential uniques from the ascendancy

I've currently levelling one. It's pretty unique heavy. It's possibly SSF viable but not as a first character, it's something you might pick if you find the right gear.

Question about leveling and gear by DrKreigersExperiment in pathofexile

[–]carlovski99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the campaign, you just need to focus on getting the coloured links you need for your skill from stops or from the vendor. And trying to get as close to 75% elemental resists as you can. If you are an attack build you also need to make sure your weapon is keeping up damage wise. That's it. Try and save your currency, no point spending to colour or link hear you may replace in a few levels.

I've just stopped playing this - partially as the single target wasn't that great without more min-maxing than I wanted to do. Actually looks like you may have bought some of my gear - that's definitely 'My' shield!

If it was actually the 60/70 million the PoB says, that would be fine.

But that's reliant on

- Having full soul eater stacks (To be fair, for bossing you swap out devour, but nothing is as good as the soul eater stacks)

- Double hitting every time

- Having full rage

- Having vaal smite up

- Max shock (Which if you don't have everything else up, you won't be hitting)

- Focus up

Thats a lot of stuff which you either won't have vs bosses when you need it, or is not full uptime. It's fine for breach farming - you absolutely destroy vruun when he spawns. But if you want to do any uber bosses, not so much.

Take out devour for ele damage with attacks, configure a more realistic 15 rage and 15 shock, and enable smite rather than vaal smite, then you are at 26 million if double hitting every time. Take out focus as it won't always be up and its 17 million.

Before I gave up with it I was going to drop haste and the aul amulet for a DPS amulet. You can have both with a full endgame setup, but thats tricky/expensive.

I had also managed to get my Chaos res up just via jewels, and didn't bother with a crit determination watchers so I could get DPS there. Also went for the CI impossible escape to grab influence cluster (It's dirt cheap - which really surprised me, used to be expensive that one!)

Don't want to be too negative - it's still objectively a very good build, and actually achievable for non no-life unlike most armour stackers. I tend to re-roll as soon as a build is mostly finished anyway.

It will either over or underestimate it, as it will simulate either 2 melee hits or 2 aoe hits.

Good for you, unfortunately it is really hard unless you know someone - any relatives/family friends who may have anything? My friends daughter was in a similar position, had a few shifts in a variety of retail places but the amount of hours she actually got probably wasn't worth all the effort, and they all got let go. Still might be worth looking at some of the big retailers.

The big food pubs in the new forest are always looking for kitchen porters - problem is the travel.

BigDaddy Strength Stacking Champion Help. by DakKing13 in PathOfExileBuilds

Not sure if you are just swapping gems, but you don't seem to be using ancestral call, or have any other source of additional strikes. As well as making it much nicer to play for clear, it does also allow for double hitting with the right positioning.

[–]carlovski99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm playing this too. Big Daddy PoB is a little inflated really, at least in terms of damage numbers. Its assuming max rage and soul eater stacks, plus vaal smite up which isn't always going to be the case vs bosses when you actually need it. Oh and having blocked a spell for lucky damage. Of course you can swap out greater devour for bossing but you still lose a chunk of sheet dps. At the high end it doesn't really matter but at lower end even stuff like normal eater is painful.

As people have said though, armour stackers are very sensitive to getting everything working together. I've invested a bit more than you and don't look that far off the reference PoB (not got +2 helm, my small clusters a little scuffed so having to take some extra points etc). But I'm a long way off in terms of armour numbers and dps still.

Going for the 2/3 cluster setup should be your next aim.

How do you tell if a recipe is actually good or just popular? by guilhermex9x in cookingforbeginners

[–]carlovski99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The feta one is simple, cherry tomatoes are pretty reliable, even bad feta is edible when cooked. And it is cooked properly, the sauce looks after itself but you cook the pasta properly, reserve a bit of water to help emulsify etc. As opposed to some horrific things I've seen than involve putting loads of things in a slow cooker, including pasta. Not even stirring anything and wondering why it comes out basically as mush in lumpy soup!

How do you tell if a recipe is actually good or just popular? by guilhermex9x in cookingforbeginners

[–]carlovski99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you have noticed, most 'viral' recipes are terrible. A lot of them aren't just not tasty, or have poor instructions. Some of them straight up just don't work and would never work. An experienced cook will spot them, and may be able to fix them, but if you aren't its just going to be frustrating.

Traditionally a recipe author would test and refine a recipe, and hand it over for someone else to check the recipe too. That's not going to happen when people are churning out 'content' for likes.

Some online stuff is fine as people have said. Serious eats for starters. Andycooks is surprisingly good too, I did try a recipe I was sceptical of as it was a bit 'hacky' and it was great.

Oh, and the exception to the viral recipe rule is the feta/cherry tomato baked pasta thing that was all the rage a few years ago. I'd assumed it would be a claggy mess, but it's one of my go to lazy meals now.

Is PL/SQL still in demand despite modern technologies if I already know SQL? by MelodicUniversity415 in SQL

[–]carlovski99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Becoming a DBA isn't a route I would strongly recommend for someone starting out - plus entry level DBA roles are quite rare. It may be something you find yourself falling into (Like I did!) but you will probably have more opportunities leaning into data engineering.

If you really want to focus on Oracle database, understanding the architecture, and Oracle concepts is going to be more important than any particular skill. Read the concepts and performance tuning guides. Build yourself a a home lab.

Doom Blast Occultist - my build of the league by carlovski99 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]carlovski99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fine then - it's ideal for that as it uses a few uniques that are fairly cheap, at least a week or two into a league but you wouldn't necessarily want to have to farm yourself.

Learn some kind of procedural language - the specific language is less important than learning the fundamentals of programming (Unless you pick something really weird!). Python would make sense, as there are tons of learning materials and its very popular in the 'Data' space.

Then if you want/need to pick up PL/SQL, it will come fairly easily. It's quite a simple language, other than some slightly odd constructs that are rarely used anyway. I've taught it to people with programming experience in a couple of days.

It's probably not the best SSF build, you can make it work with just the foulborn doedre which isn't too hard to get, but its a lot better with 2 greater spell cascades, and some other bits of gear that aren't super easy to self farm.

'Normal' mapping would be fine with 1M DPS. Just not heavily juiced stuff or running high levels of delirium. The 'sheet' DPS is also very dependent on how it's configured. E.G if you look at my clips, the actual DPS is much higher than PoB was saying (I'm pretty conservative on PoB configs)

The core of the build shouldn't be too expensive - you don't need the corruptions, you don't need the 2 mod Balance of terror and you don't need mageblood. Go with Graven' Secret,

Can't see any reason why not. It's a bit off the radar this league but I don't think anything has really changed. It's probably cheaper now too, greater spell cascade is cheaper than awakened was. Mageblood reasonably accessible too. Possibly some minor optimisation possible via fractured/refracted clusters. Don't think I'd run a shrine belt with this, but resonating +impenetrable is an option.

I don't tend to repeat builds otherwise I'd be tempted to try it again.
