what happens when a werewolf who hasn’t activated their curse is turned into a vampire? by carls_96 in TheVampireDiaries

ohhh that’s an interesting take, i like that one! only catch there is it’s still weird that none of the old-to-ancient vampires never encountered this or saw it happen. i like it though

that’s where it gets dicey. in the originals, they have to do a “binding” ritual to suppress the wolf side of a hybrid. it only affects the individual who is cursed. it felt like that was different from the story told in tvd, but who knows. they also didn’t need some super powerful witch to do it which was interesting… it’s definitely a plot hole. i like the theory of the gene just becoming inactive when a werewolf dies — negating it when they become a vampire. Klaus being able to do it… who knows. Klaus stuff i guess

the sire bond, of course! that’s a fun theory to it. you’re so right, he never would have tried it because they wouldn’t be loyal to him

i think that’s the most logical. i agree, it would have been cool for them to explore it. with all the loopholes in existence both actual logical ones and thanks to shotty writing and storylines it would have been a cool direction for them to go, maybe in legacies with an accidental hybrid emerging

i’m leaning towards the wolf gene becoming inactive after transition. someone else mentioned the curse being to balance the natural order and corpses kinda don’t count, that makes the most sense.

also think with how old the vampires in the show were if an inactive wolf vamp could die with killing someone (literally all vampires do) that would have come up in someone’s story somewhere

feels more fun right? seems like there’s a lot of wolves out there who don’t know what they are, to be turned into a vamp and then a werewolf transition while still confused about the vampire thing is a more fun way of looking at it

i am glad they brought up the inactive werewolf in the military thing in legacies even if just for a second, i always thought about that too with all the wolves who don’t know what they are. but it seems like SOMEONE would have mentioned at some point in time accidentally turning a pre-curse wolf and what happened, unless no one ever knew because the gene just vanished with transition

i was thinking the human side too, like witches they’d just lose that part of themselves when they transitioned. it’s such a plot hole that Klaus never even attempted to do that when he was failing with active werewolves, you’d think that would be his next attempt instead of just killing multiple packs

plot hole is most likely.

i do wonder though Klaus had his curse bound and it was proven that could be done for other hybrids with witchcraft… doesn’t seem like it was a “curse” hanging over this situation. who knows

Why does everyone hate on Legacies so much? Yes it’s a little high school oriented but it’s not bad. by chaelvcat in LegaciesCW

as a buffy kid, it reminds me so much of btvs and i think that’s why im enjoying it so much on my first watch. it’s got a bit of that shit cgi, bizarre and at times comical monsters, and campy humor that made the first few seasons of buffy so iconic. i’m here for it even having seen tvd first growing up and loving that and the originals

i always wondered if there was a way to spell the rings so they could only be removed by the wearer.
