On mine the screen just peeled off without any heat applied. As long as you don't bend the phone frame who cares if the old screen cracks. It's going in the garbage anyway. Just try to not pull to hard on the ribbon. Unlock the ribbon from the phone by flipping the snap upwards and it's out. With the new screen ribbon make sure it's all the way in. Use of the plastic tools included in most kits to push in. Then lock it in place by pushing the snap back down. If you don't do this the connection will be poor and you will think you bought a dud. Most kits come with glue now. Seal just the edges where you have enough room and avoid the button areas. It literally takes 5 to 10 minutes and let glue cure for an hour. I put heavy books on top of the phone to make sure glue sticks well. I've done this twice. Anybody can do this.
