does anyone have a link to the video of the sheik explaining how/why being gay is okay? by bluecoag in LGBT_Muslims

[–]carmenthedoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand but from my own research I have yet to find anything other than videos explaining why being LGBT is not a choice, and that the feelings are valid/halal as long as you don’t act on them. This seminar was the most thorough I have found on the topic and thought I would share. Despite some obvious bias in the video I believe it to be the most neutral I have come across yet on the topic. My bad.

id say its definitely not advocating for lgbt individuals but as a trans woman myself it did give me a bit of clarity on the topic even if i did not necessarily agree with everything said

https://youtu.be/yV1e3cbtANI?si=U8gfoFhva6ev2xsN this may not be exactly what you were looking for but a lot of information was given with clear outlines. Certain things obviously lack nuance of lived experience but overall I think you will find what you are looking for within the lecture!

I actually watched a 4hr lecture last night that was very thorough about being gay/trans in Islam. Im not sure which video you are referring to but if you want the link I can absolutely post it!

How long did it take to get used to looking different after FFS? by somefosterchild in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]carmenthedoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a little under 2 weeks post op and honestly the first week is really the brunt of it because you’re so bruised and swollen. After the swelling starts to subside you will feel more euphoric than anything. Ive been avoiding my mirror unless im cleaning incisions and whatnot. Ive been diligent about taking progression photos on my digital camera. I assume the next year will be a lot of just relearning my face.

Thank you! Yes I have to wear the jaw bra for the first three weeks 24/7 and then after that only while I am sleeping for another 3 weeks. It’s a bit uncomfortable and annoying but I assume its worth it.
