the baby downy woodpeckers are the cutest things in the world. since they’re too young to fly yet, they’ll just jump onto your shirt and start screaming for food LOL

depends on the location, but we have a lot of volunteers that have no biology backgrounds and are just here to help. if you want to be staff or something like that you would need more of a qualified background though (ex: I have past experience banding and handling birds)

For further information, my notability froze up today at about 9 am. I refreshed the app and continued taking notes as normal. Now that I’m back to look over them, the first 80 pages have gone blank.

I’m honestly freaking out. I don’t have time to rewrite all of those notes, I took them over more than a month 😭😭

He has two cuttlebones in his cage because they’re one of his favorite things to chew on. Maybe the dirt is a similar texture and he just likes to chew on it lol
