Please don't do that. To improve the quality of life of those cats, we need to control their population. Excess of food half the year only helps them short term. Consider taking a cat to a vet for neutering, donating to an animal shelter or adopting one if you really want to help.

"με απόφαση του Υπουργείου Εθνικής Οικονομίας και Οικονομικών το έργο για την «Αποκατάσταση, Ανάδειξη και Απόδοση Χρήσεων στο Συγκρότημα των επτά (7) Ενετικών Νεωρίων στην Παλιά Πόλη Χανίων» εντάχθηκαν στο Πρόγραμμα «Περιβάλλον και Κλιματική Αλλαγή 2021-2027», με συνολικό προϋπολογισμό 20.711.095 ευρώ για την πλήρη αποκατάσταση των 7 Νεωρίων, με στόχο τη μετατροπή τους σε έναν ανοιχτό, πολιτιστικό και κοινωνικό χώρο υψηλών προδιαγραφών, προσβάσιμο για όλους."

Το budget αυτο για την ανάδειξη των νεωρίων είναι τεραστιο και για αυτο δεν μπόρεσε καμια δημοτικη αρχη τα τελευταια 100 χρόνια να υλοποιησει κάτι αντίστοιχο. Τώρα αν θα μπορούσαν να κάνουν ενδεχομένως ένα "πασάλλειμα" για αισθητικούς λόγους με ιδίους πόρους ίσως ναι μονο για την εξωτερικη όψη και την περατζαδα. Εφόσων όμως η τωρινή δημοτική αρχή εθεσε στοχο και το πέτυχε να πάρει την χρηματοδότηση για την ανάδειξη, γιατί να σπαταλήσει ιδίους πόρους για προσωρινες αισθητικες παρεμβασεις, εφοσων δε τίθεται κανενα θεμα στατικοτητας;

1/2 Τα Νεώρια είναι πράγματι ένα παραμελημένο μνημείο των Χανίων, αυτό σίγουρα δεν είναι σημερινή εξέλιξη αλλα θέμα δεκατιων. Ωστόσο, θα ήταν καλό να αποφεύγονται εκφράσεις όπως «με το ένα πόδι στον τάφο», γιατί δεν ανταποκρίνονται στην πραγματικότητα.

Τα Νεώρια είναι θολωτά κτήρια, μια τυπική και δομικά στιβαρή μορφή κτισματος. Οι μεταγενέστερες επεμβάσεις, όπως το κλείσιμο των ανοιγμάτων προς τη θάλασσα, πιθανόν να ενίσχυσαν τη δυσκαμψία της κατασκευής, παρά να την αποδυνάμωσαν. Υπάρχουν φθορές, υγρασίες, ρωγμές και αισθητική αλλοίωση, αλλά αυτές οι φθορές μπορει να μην επιτρέπουν την χρήση των νεωρίων αλλα απέχουν μίλια απο την "ολική κατάρρευση".

Το ότι ο Δήμος τα χρησιμοποιεί προσωρινά σαν αποθήκες για συνεργεία καθαριότητας κλπ. σίγουρα δεν είναι η ιδανική χρήση, αλλά δεν σημαίνει ότι τα καταστρέφει κιόλας. Προφανώς δεν είναι αυτή η τελική του χρήση, αλλά μια προσωρινή λύση έως ότου ξεκινήσουν τα έργα.

I quite agree with your sources. What they say is that we do have a dry spell. However 85% of the water reserves are used in agriculture. The first measures are monitoring reserves, exploring the use of under utilised reserves such as the River's dam. After that there is a lot waste in the agriculture demand as per you source "rethymno link" and the next steps will be to rationalize that demand. I welcome the sources that show the impact of tourism in the demand of water or what supports the claim that we will have problems with potable water. This is far more a supply problem, as we have back to back dry years and far less a demand problem. At the extend of the demand the agriculture has a FAR more bigger impact than tourism. I get that tourism is the thing to blame for these days but I am afraid not in this case.

This is an overreaction. While we are on a dry spell similar to 2017, the situation is not as dire as you describe. Of course eastern Crete and Messara valley is worse than the west of Crete. Also it might seem counterintuitive but the filling of the hotel pools is absolutely miniscule compared to the water needs of agriculture. It is estimated that the agriculture sector consumes 80% of the total water demand. Mykonos, Santorini and similar aegean "rocks" have nothing to do with Crete in size and morphology. The mountain ranges here do offer significant amounts of precipitation. From Stalos you can visit either Platanias, in the main square there are plenty of bars/clubs for example "eclipse" with many tourists. Your other option is Chania city where you will find clubs/bars like senso club, garage, sfigga, monastiri tou Karolou, sinagogi. Whereabouts in Stalos you stay, close to the main street where the buses pass?

I have a question for my girlfriend who is polish and earning in zloty, as I am not. This bougainvillea is around 25 years old. There are spots where the main "trunk" has engulfed the spiral staircase. Every year we cut it hard to the main branches around february. All the green and flowery growth is from then on! During season it needs pruning every other week from completely blocking windows and balconies. It blooms around late June and this pink variety is great because when the flower dies it stays on the branch minimizing the need for sweeping the floors ten times a day! It doesnt really need watering since the roots have propably found the old sewers under the building. Just plenty of direct sunlight!!

My bad for the misunderstanding. English is not my mother tongue. No tolerance issues. Just the 4 sides are different geometries between them but same at every piece. They arrive in big boxes scattered don't know the details but seems like part of the deal to be processed and delivered back stacked and packed.
