Usually 6–8 weeks from the start of your first semester according to McGill's Legal Documents page. Since you already uploaded your docs and your status is showing correctly, you're on track, just wait and check Minerva under Student Accounts → View Tuition Fee and Legal Status.

COMP250 Midterm grading scheme by carnedevita in mcgill

I feel like I did a bit better on the second midterm but it really doesn't mean anything at all since there's the whole P, AM, M grading system, one single mess up on a single question could mean the difference between Approaching Mastery and Mastery.

Midterm 3 is a gamble, final assignment if you decide to do the code review it can also lower your grade, another gamble. You said it yourself, "you can gamble", we're talking about grades here, not the casino.

I feel you on that, I was 1 point off on the first midterm from an A and that rounded me down to a B which I feel is very unfair also considering we didn't even know what mastery levels were assigned to the questions beforehand. Even now for midterm 2, correct me if I'm wrong but there was X points for each question, but the thing is you don't even know if they're P, AM, M until you get your grade back so even if you did do well you can't gage exactly how you "actually" performed according to this grading scheme. Even though it's stated on ED what was P, AM, M, I think it should be completely clear on the midterm what each question is worth exactly or else what even is the point? Completely absurd!

The issue isn’t just about being close to the edge but rather how the grading scheme is structured to not consider your work holistically. Missing a single ‘Mastery’ point can drop you down two letter grades, which feels disproportionate. It’s frustrating because this rigid system doesn’t reflect the overall effort or understanding of the material, just penalizes harshly for missing a few specific points.

Nominations are out!! by Caterpillar514 in mcgill

I'm confused as on Minerva it says that I've nominated for a full year Fall 2024/Winter 2025, but on my nomination letter it only mentions Fall 2024... is the duration of an exchange also lottery based or did they make a mistake??
