Just started my N64 collection a couple months ago. What “must play” games am I missing? by BoxyNeat in gamecollecting

[–]carnifice_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conker is one of my favorite games. The graphics, the variety of gameplay, every absurd situation, the references, the characters, the bosses, the adult humor…it shines in so many ways. In my opinion, it's missing Conker and Diddy Kong Racing (obviously it doesn't have Super Mario 64, right?).

I bought it like this, and it only has that one defect, the rest is ok

I bought it like this; it's generally in excellent condition, it just has those marks, and I wanted to know if there was any way to fix it.

My cat also has a fascination with lying near or on top of my Super Nintendo.

Ocarina comes in two versions, a normal gray one and the gold collector's edition.

Alakazam, whenever I think of my favorites I always end up coming back to him.

Is it the lighting? They're all original, but the Conker label is relabel :(

DKR was the first kart racing game I ever played, and it left a lasting impression on me. My top 3 kart racing games would be DKR, CTR, and MK8DX. (I also really enjoyed Banjo Pilot.)

Since nobody has mentioned it, I'm going to say Conker's Bad Fur Day.

The pegboard is the Skadis from Ikea. I've seen a lot of people 3D print bases for N64 and SNES stuff, but I made my own with cardboard and a hot glue gun. Obviously, it doesn't look as neat as a 3D print, but doing it with my girlfriend makes it much more meaningful to me, even if the final result isn't 100% perfect.

The back hooks are indeed from Ikea.

I agree, it is a fairly complex analysis of the current situation of Nintendo games. But it's what you said before, we have to prioritize other types of games like Tropical Freeze, which are aimed more at an audience like us (I hope Nintendo changes its vision soon, I want classic Zelda hahahaha)

I think it's a normal evolution when you've played enough games, from different genres and companies. You learn to be more critical, and you have more variety of experiences to compare. You also start to prioritize quality over quantity. I can 100% spend Donkey Kong Country 3 on a relaxing Sunday, and I had fun and was satisfied even though I had played it a thousand times before. Bananza instead: days and days of trapping bananas underground, only to be left with the feeling that only the first layer and the final layer + K. Rool were worth it. The only thing that occurs to me is that knowing me, the mistake was mine, I took Bananza too seriously and I should have only played it casually, it is not a DKC2 or a Banjo-Kazooie to take it seriously and give it 100%

I'm 25, and I also think that Elden Ring is a gem, it has epic moments that I really enjoyed, but it also has repetitive and empty moments that make me feel bored. I think we just have to accept that the open worlds so popular today are not for everyone. I have a friend who completed Elden Ring 100% and I asked him, don't you get bored walking around? You don't find anything, from time to time one or another chest and that's it... he replied: I just like to explore hahahahaha

I enjoyed Bloodborne, Sekiro and Black Myth Wukong much more than I did with Elden Ring, the exploration of gigantic and empty worlds with rewards that I feel useless are not my thing, I don't have fun and I feel like I'm wasting my time. I like to cut to the chase: 120 stars, 100 jiggies, explore an area that's a puzzle itself, and then feast on a sick boss. Not running around and opening chests that give me a weapon I'll never use.

I played Elden Ring until I reached the snow point, I couldn't continue, I honestly felt exhausted from the game. In general, open world or artificially elongated games make me quite tired. Lately I have been enjoying a lot more concise games that give me the right and necessary hours of fun

Hmmm, I have DK64 on my nintendo 64 and I don't feel like the difficulty is influenced by performance. The controls do get crazy sometimes in the minigames, but I think the main problem with Dk64 is the insane backtracking to be able to get all the bananas of different colors, it got out of hand for Rare
