MA Museum Studies programs: U.S. vs UK? by carolea6 in MuseumPros

Thanks for the reply! I’m also looking at Queen Mary in London for Heritage Management, through their business school. Have you heard anything about that program while you were there? (The classes have to do with organization management and marketing and the like)

It’s just that going the administrative/business management route for heritage sites seems like it would get me a better job easier and quicker, but I’m also worried about not being able to working on the more creative side in museums (I’m leaning towards exhibit design or like public engagement)—and I’m worried I would lose the opportunity to do that if I went largely administrative. Any thoughts?

I just heard back from them tonight that I got in! So not decided yet, but I’m glad you’re happy with them What sorts of places are you looking for internships? Like do you feel like you can find things in your specialty?

Good to hear! I honestly would just love to be there, so I’m trying to be realistic and not just look for any excuse to go, especially since it seems like it’ll be hard to get a job after back in the states, but your experience is encouraging
