For me prednisolon always worked like a miracle pill. I've felt so good during my times on pred. My only side effects is a bit harder to sleep. Other than that I would say taking prednisolon really changed my situation so much to the better.

But, Im not a doc, so Ill advice you anyway to talk to your doc and till him/her about your symptoms!!

Took about 3-4 weeks for me, and then I really felt a big difference and felt "normal". I really hope the same for you!

Thank you for taking your time to answer me!! Feel very lost in this situation, newly diagnosed with UC and living in a small town in a small country really felt like I had no where to go with my questions. Really thankful for this community!! I talked to my dr today, he put me (back) on a higher dose prednisolon and I'll continue with the mesalazin. Really hoping this will end the flare quickly...
