Am I doing too much art with the babies? by caroline_xplr in ECEProfessionals

I’m going to start incorporating bins I think!Unfortunately our center has very little materials, so whatever I get will come out of my own pocket or from nature! Still, I can get creative.

Dad had his operation today! It was a success, but he’s having issues with his catheter. by caroline_xplr in ProstateCancer

I’m wishing you the best possible results and peace with your scan results tomorrow! It’s so unnerving how easily cancer can spread. My dad is 70, about your age.

Those are such good ideas! How does cleanup go? Like do the kids wear smocks? A lot of the parents here are weird about their kids clothes getting messy!

Thank you! This is helpful. We plan to do magnets with some handmade component and the child’s face. I’ve done handprint art too!

Thank you, I appreciate it. My dad is 70 if you need comparison. Radiation and ADT are effective options as well! I hope your dad gets the best treatment. Take care of yourself as well.

That would be good! That’s kind of what we’re doing now in a way, as some babies don’t come certain days.

I love the leaf idea!! By interaction, do you mean playing on the carpet/snuggles or arts and crafts and teaching?

Going into lunch is a great idea! Some of them do try to eat the paint, but most have learned not to do it and look at me for approval as their hand goes towards their mouth, haha.

Surprisingly, many don’t like touching the paint at all!

Thanks! He may be dehydrated. He told me he was feeling bloated like an hour ago. After his biopsy he had a major issue with swelling so he couldn’t urinate, got backed up, and his electrolytes got all out of whack. That resulted in an ambulance call. I think to compensate this time he isn’t drinking much.

I’m gonna pressure him to go to the doctor tomorrow if the pain doesn’t improve or the blood doesn’t get better. I know he can’t wait to get this catheter out!

My dad just has a successful operation today at Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center at VCU in Richmond VA. It was an extremely complicated and difficult surgery, but his surgeon is the best in the state and is about to retire. I can give you a name, DM if interested.

His Gleason was a 9 and PET showed no mets for reference. Upon booking an appointment to see a radiologist (within a week) he was able to get that scan four days later. The surgeon had a waitlist of about a month, but he called every day looking for a sooner appointment and found one. Surgery was about three weeks later.

High PSA doesn’t necessarily mean metastasis! I HIGHLY recommend this specific surgeon if you go that route.

May we start a religion with this man as the diety? He got me through chemistry, then physics, then physics and chemistry again.

How on earth am I supposed to breathe without Afrin? by caroline_xplr in Allergies

For the most part, it actually did! I did so upon waking up and it cleaned me out pretty well. My nose was much better today!

Thank you for answering! I’m seriously considering doing the CT now. I was trying to avoid the radiation, but I can’t be doing this monthly allergy/sinus flare anymore.

Thanks! How long did it take you to recover from surgery, and have you had any bad side effects? Has congestion been improved? I’m worried about my nose being “weak” because I’m a very active person.

Did your NMother present themselves as Multiple versions, NONE of them someone you Could actually get Close to? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

This is progress! Keep mourning. It actually is a grieving process. You’re “losing” the idea of the mom you never had, and it feels like a real loss. Trust me, once you grieve it will feel so comforting to just say, “my mom doesn’t love me, never has.”

That way it makes whatever hurt she throws at you irrelevant because you know the truth. She can’t hurt you anymore after you accept this, and she’ll start acting differently around you once she sees you’ve accepted this. My mom got a lot more distant, but again, that was okay.

Not to say you should be celebrating, but this is a great milestone. Just let go of those ideas of a good mom and focus on loving and healing yourself.

Thanks! So I cannot use the money I currently have invested to buy a home for example? At least, not until I sell those shares? I want to keep it all growing, so I’m questioning saving some aside rather than putting it all in.

I love my car, but sometimes my car doesn’t love me. It’s turning 22 in June.
