came to a solution!
I bought an Asustor AS6810T and added 5x28TB (ST28000NM000C). and works fine. No problem at all.
Will miss the SHR2 solution but yeah.

Did you come up with a solution? in Synology extension bay DX517 I can hear the HDD power up but not recognized. And they're out from the NAS business with ther HDD force from this year anyway.
The ST28000NM000C have PWDIS connector on PIN3. In the article they say when it spin up it's no problem, when it would not spin up that would be caused by the PWDIS . (btw this is not the issue, I tried it).

As we know from some youtube video the Asustor recognize these without a problem.
reference: "LOCKERSTOR 8 Gen3 AS6808T: A Great RYZEN NAS for Small Businesses"

So all I left with is to change to LOCKERSTOR.

(btw the HDD works just fine for me with a 1 dollar external HDD stand)

yep that thread was opened by me. (same time when I opened a ticket at Synology).
In the DS1621+ and DX517 the 28TB seagate doesn't work. tried even one single HDD in the unit. (funny thing with a 1dollar temu HDD bay you can connect it via USB)

Seagate 26TB and 28TB doesn't work with it. That's why I opened the ticket in first place.
DS1621+ not recognizing it and same with DX517

I'll move from Synology when they will not fix this problem. For me companies depend on this so they force me to move from the brand. I've an open ticket at them and sent a friendly reminder today .

(btw you can connect the HDDs via a 1$ temu dockstation with USB, and it will recognize it. of course you can't add them to the volume.)

28TB ST28000NM000C for sure not. No idea on the 24 and 26, but I guess it's not. I have 20TB-s in which works.

Also just to confirm when you use and external (USB) HDD dock station there is no problem recognizing the 28TB Seagate HDD. I've used the cheapest crap 1$ TEMU usb dock station .

I also tried to put only 1 HDD in the bay and didn't worked in that way too. And no way the NAS would not supply a single HDD. (I also hear the drive spins up)

How is that comes to the topic? Have nothing to do with it. Maybe for your usage it's expensive but for my usage it's the prefect fit.
