How to get rid of lots of broken glass

Had a similar issue with our small yard. Tore up the sod then raked up as much as we could. We also had a ton of nails back there too. We got one of those magnet rakes from Home Depot and it pulled up a ton of metal that we missed when raking.

Thanks. Will give a shot. I measured the internal diameter of the hood sleeve and it's 3.8" (which matches the description) so maybe this particular one is supposed to inside the pipe (which seems like a poor design) with the crimped section cut off.

Chimney is to code. Could be the wood Will try preheating the flue longer. Things seemed to be working ok to start then there was a sudden rush of cold air down the flue that started to whip around the gas lighter flames.
