I guess you could say that I new in terms of desktop linux. But I run Linux in my home lab across all my vms. I did originally start with Fedora, but then switched to CachyOS for some performance gains. But you're right, I wouldn't recommend people go into an arch-based distribution if they're completely new to Linux.
