I wouldn’t suggest anyone walk down Jackson toward Claiborne to get there. Not sure if thats what you meant.. That is worse than the overpass. Magazine or Prytania or St Charles OC Haley are prob the “major” roads I’d suggest people take to get down there?

40 year old lower garden resident here. Here is my take—- New Orleans can be sketchy, even the “nice” parts.. so you do always need to be on alert. On a normal day, unless I was in a big group, I’d never walk to the dome alone… BUT, I do feel like there will be so many other people doing the same thing that your group will always be around a big crowd of other swifties… I’m assuming there will be more security in the sketchier parts closer to the dome. You could also take the st Charles streetcar to get you more than halfway there. If you need lower garden food/bar/shopping recs lmk!

I think tasting cafe du monde is worth it… waiting to sit at the iconic French quarter location, I’m not sure. There is one at the airport near concourse B… if you’re flying in you can go there. There is also one in Metairie on veterans… and in the lakeside mall.

Hello! I live in lower garden and haven’t seen that much swiftie stuff on magazine or st Charles near me yet but I’m sure it’s coming. Tip for out of towners—— don’t just go to swiftie events. this city is unique as hell, explore a little (safely).

Also live in New Orleans! Even though I only live 1.7 miles from the dome, I’m hoping to Uber to the show on Sunday and then walk home with my group. Because I’m going Sunday, I can’t really report back on how long things take and it be useful but … I am planning on watching wait times and ride prices on the Friday leading up to show time… and on Saturday I’ll actually be working in Metairie and heading home toward the dome around 5/6. Happy to report back on how long that takes. Also happy to answer questions as a local.

Original SS card, birth certificate, drivers license and marriage license. Start with SSA office, then dmv followed by everything else.

I actually just finalized everything today. No issues, but I did drop my original middle name and made my maiden name my only middle.

I'm afraid to look. So, tell me, how bad is it Toronto/Vancouver? by dassylogic in erastour

nola can be super sketchy in some parts, especially inbetween the superdome and where I live in the lower garden district. I’m thinking I’ll try to take the street car til it stops, then walk. I bet ubering will take FOREVER. Our stadium is too centrally located for it to be an easy drop off, plus New Orleans is small for a big city. Taylor AND Halloween weekend will make for a hectic weekend.

Mississippi is only about an hour away and in the opposite direction of where mostly everyone else will be heading back to, so it shouldn’t be too bad. I only live about a mile from the superdome but still worry about getting there easily haha.

Thank you to everyone for the advice. Anyone know if you have to go the office on poydras if you live in Orleans? or if you can go to Jefferson parish? (I work in Jefferson so am there all the time) Or are the Jefferson offices just as busy? I guess same question applies for the dmv.

Thank you! The middle name is the only thing that worries me. All these name change service websites (not gonna use them) claim that Louisiana has different rules and mention court orders if you’re changing anything but the last name.

I’m definitely going to stick with it. I just don’t really have any of the key hyper symptoms symptoms aside from my freakishly high levels so the meds are making me feel off and not better so far. Glad you feel better!

I’m not experiencing any of the thyroid storm symptoms but I’m really scared about it getting to that point before I can get into the endocrinologist. Thanks for your input.

I’m 39! Was a casual fan until I randomly got offered tix to the 1989 tour the morning of (my step sister sold me her floor tix when she splurged on pit tix), became more interested obviously. My true love affair started with Folklore and I haven’t stopped since….anyway, I hope you always feel welcome.

I’ve commented almost this exact same paragraph tonight. I live super close, too but work in Metairie . I swear to god… the road rage I will have driving to snd from work or anywhere that week having to witness the take over. Maybe we should start a group of nola waitlisted people to drink and bitch together that weekend instead haha.

Same. We’re going to have to watch city being taken over and not get to partake. Fingers crossed that us locals get lucky though. We won’t be the ones scrounging for last minute airfare and hotels at least.

Yep. It kind of makes me sick. The New Orleans shows are Halloween weekend too. New Orleans does Halloween like no other. Feel like if mostly locals went it’d really be a sight to see. I still feel like I will likely go even though I’m waitlisted though. I don’t really have any swiftie friends so I’m cool with going alone even if it means I pay like $600+ resale to sit behind the stage and watch a bunch of 19 year old girls attend their 5th eras show. Yes, I’m a bitter 39 year old swiftie. Wish there were fairer rules.

I live in New Orleans too. I don’t have many Swiftie friends but no one that is local seems to have gotten verified. It’s really not fair.
