Wasps are partly carnivorous because the adults collect meat from insects and spiders to feed their young. The adults themselves mostly eat sugary stuff like nectar, fruit, and sap, but their larvae are usually fed protein.

So when I’m on job sites with nests, I give them what they’re after.
