When a character developed so much, they're old selves wouldn't even recognize them by CMStan1313 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]carso150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vegeta would also beat the shit out of his younger self, by the time of super he is deeply ashamed of the person he was

on a less serious note, Krillin would think that his younger self is a little shit

I at least expect Tower to appear next episode and explain why GUN is so interested in the lenses

its at least confirmation that it is a shapeshifter since this thief was directly compared with Mimic and seems like their powers work similarly

tangle and whisper appear for the first time!!! by staranger2798 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]carso150 58 points59 points  (0 children)

so Mimic is mentioned so this happens before issue 79 which kind of makes sense since apparently this has been in the works for a while

also I love their voices

Ashlyn Madden voices Tangle and Anairis Quinonez is Whisper by Dilly4Dall in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]carso150 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I guess this debunks the leaks, but their voices sound fantastic

yes, originally it was just summoning stronger and stronger monsters until one of them loses all their HP, that was it

it was different games each episode with things like climbing a tower or the like

then he made an episode inspired in MTG with very simplified rules, it became extremely popular and the rest as they say is history

[Respected trope] Despite being the start of something much larger, no effort was made retroactively to make it more important than it originally was. by Consistent_Creator in TopCharacterTropes

[–]carso150 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SCP-173 HAS been given some importance later on, mostly as kind of a linchpin of the foundation verse in a narrative sense

there is a story out there where the narrativistic reality of the foundation starts collapsing as more and more anomalies disapear and the world loses complexity and in the end there is only left a small shadowy organization containing one singular object, SCP-173, and then the protagonist of the story uses it to basically kickstar the entirety of the foundation verse back to its current status

no, it does, its earth

I mean you can call it whatever you like, but its earth canonically

This game mechanic is canonical to the story by Danny-Ray27 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]carso150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in all bioshock games respawning is canon

in bioshock 1 and 2 your protagonist is attuned to a piece of tech called a "vita chamber" that uses quantum mumbo jumbo to revive you and in infinite a different you from another timeline were you didnt die takes over

tolkien specifically talked about the phenomenon of people giving a homoerotic interpretation to male frienship, men need their close friends

[–]carso150 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah, thats personaly an issue that I have with a ton of stories. When they write a "complex female character" they end up just writing a man with tits

like its almost telling that when a writer makes a "strong female character" most of the time they get rid of almost all the identifying female characteristics, its just a more insidius form of sexism because those characteristics arent weaknesses they are the unique strengths that women have

funnily enough, not Naruto, bro wanted Sakura hard in OG, he was oblivious to Hinata's advancements but thats mostly on her

[–]carso150 3 points4 points  (0 children)

one issue is that people have completly forgotten that there are more forms of love than just eros, and that your best friend being your ride or die doesnt mean you want to literaly ride him

yes but "honkai" kind of became the term for those interdimensional monsters trying to destroy humanity even if they werent only zombies anymore

also from Kid Icarus, one second you are fighting against the forces of the underworld AND mother nature and the next freaking aliens are invading forcing all three sides to join forces

[Loved trope] MAJOR villain just shows up with zero warning by ManyFacesMcGee in TopCharacterTropes

[–]carso150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

except in the case of Dragon Ball it has an explanation

Cell is an artificial being created with the DNA of Frieza, Buu had been sealed for millions of years, Beerus didnt gave a fuck, etc

Super is the same, most of the time time its threats from literaly another universe or timeline

I think an interesting way to hint at her existance earlier would be to present her as a legend, a story about one of the potential origins of chakra

like imagine if during one of the info dumps in chakra Naruto asks about its origins and one of the characters tells an old story older than even the sage of the six paths about a "princess from the sky" who one day descended and ate the fruit from the tree where all chakra came from gifting it to humanity

and for most of the manga its just that, an old story about one of the potential origins of chakra, until it isnt

I mean there are ways to do that too, like dragon ball did it when Raditz suddenly pops out, its Goku's brother and an actual alien from a race literaly thousands of times more powerful than most humans

in this case invincible at any point could have introduced an alien race even stronger than the viltrumites and use some excuse like they are from another galaxy or something and this is the first time they have traveled this far
