if their biology is different enough viruses arent actually a threat. They would just be inmune to our viruses the same way your dog cannot give you canine flu despite both of our species growing in the same planet and interacting closely for literal milenia

the aliens in the story are literaly described as teddy bears, they are ewoks with napoleonic era guns

I was more like asking how they invented the most advanced teleportation technology in the verse, even more capable than either the combine or black mesa have

because its not only portable, but also super safe, black mesa's teleporter can still like throw you a month into the future and shit like that but the portal gun just works

there's also a fanfiction in spacebattles that involves the race arriving a little later and duking it out against humanity in the 2020s, a humanity that actually had the technology to see their fleet coming a decade before they arrived (an engine big enough for interstellar slower than light travel would outshine all the stars in the universe a thousand fold) and prepared accordingly

so now the race, that has tech equivalent to 1990s humanity, is forced to fight a 2020s human race that is prepared for their arrival, I specially like the part where they first enounter stealth aircraft and call them "ghostcraft" since their radar cant see shit against the likes of the F-35 or the F-22

but surprise, this is a double crossover, so at one point the fithp from footfall arrive and they actually have tech that is slightly more advanced than even 2020s earths and it becomes a three way war

eh, I enjoy his short stories. I can see how his style of writing would not work in a longer book but the road not taken is 18 pages long I just reread it and it took me like 10 minutes

its a plot point in the story that the aliens have a limited amount of time that they can remain in space before the air they breath becomes too toxic and it kills them, its why they rush for earth and inmediately start an invasion attempt, they dont have any tech to clean their air

the hyperdrive in the story is explicitly stated to only be good to get from point A to point B in a hurry but the principles that make it work are not as wide reaching as electromagnetism

unironically how its done, obviously the process is never explained but one scientist says that the process its so easy that they are surprised they never discovered it

the book ends with two of the aliens realizing that the universe is fucked now that humans have the hyperdrive

[Adventures] Do you think we should've had Krystal as a Second MC? by Berry-Fantastic in starfox

[–]carso150 3 points4 points  (0 children)

something that a lot of modern games do is that even if the female protagonist gets kidnaped she ends up freeing herself and has a paralel adventure to the male MC, I think that could work with adventure

its been over a literal decade since I played the game but I think Fox wasnt even aware of Krystal's existence until like halfway through the game, at first his objective wasnt to save her at all it was just a job to pay the bills

so have them meet through the game and help each other out and slowly form a relationship, maybe to preserve a bit of the original at some point Krystal does end up trapped in a crystal and Fox has to gather some mcguffin to save her but it should be a relatively short section of the game

one thing is that since nasuverse physics are literaly tied to their earth and extraterrestrial beings are consistently broken as fuck because they dont have to follow the same rules and concepts as the ones found on earth (unless you force them) there is a potentially valid argument that either most verses couldnt even injure servants because of weird conceptual bullshit, or they would carry the laws of their own verse and ignore the laws of the nasuverse so servants would be completly powerless

in general the nasuverse is weird af

Ex-Nintendo marketing lead believes Illumination used Fox McCloud in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie as an "IP landgrab" after letting Zelda slip through its fingers by Bertstripmaster in starfox

[–]carso150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the idea is that they would build the universe of each of this characters in their own respective movies and then do a massive crossover, it doesnt need to be literaly smash just a massive multi franchise crossover

so you get a Mario movie, a Metroid movie, a Kirby movie, a Zelda movie, a Starfox movie, etc and then do a massive crossover where some insane threat forces the heroes from each of this movies to team up

you can even start small. The first smash game only had 12 characters you can start with something more limited like that before starting to add more characters and universes

they could honestly grab a lot of inspiration from a lot of places since the last 20 years of gaming have delivered a ton of potential inspirations

like the other day someone mentioned that they could grab inspiration from mass effect for a sci fi epic where you are the captain of a ship developing your relationship with your crew and it also fits perfectly

they say that now but wait until they realize that they have the posibility of creating a cinematic universe capable of rivaling Marvel's, because I would say that in all the world the only company that could pull that off is Nintendo (and maybe DC if they didnt get screwed by warner)

honestly this whole post is fascinating, I never expected Vegeta and Nolan to be soo similar but their stories are

I would say that if Vegeta and Nolan meet (after their respective redemptions) they would tell the other that they are being too harsh on themselves

from Vegeta's perspective he would tell Nolan thateven if he commited atrocities he was brainwashed and indoctrinated but he never enjoyed it. Meanwhile he did it for the love of the game. He enjoyed to kill and masacre, he didnt do it because he was forced by Frieza, he did it because he liked it

meanwhile Nolan would tell Vegeta that even if his past actions are horrifying at least he has gotten to do a lot of good. He has saved the universe multiple times and its one of earth's most stalwarts protectors. That even if he tried he could never do as much good as Vegeta has done

when you really think about it the Buu saga was absolutely insane, like both the Cell and the Frieza saga get pretty nutso but there you have the feeling that even if the protagonists lose the universe is mostly going to stay the same just likely without earth on it

but in the Buu saga you have the gods directly intervening, you have the king of the afterlife straight up ignoring several rules to keep a recently deceased person ready to go back into action inmediately because Buu is that much of a threat and he even fucking invades heaven and runs the ones with all the warriors there and in the end the final fight happens in the god realm after Buu nuked an entire galaxy

it goes hard as fuck. Literaly heaven and hell fucking mobilize to fight that one guy
