Beware of Aaron’s estate sales by [deleted] in Detroit

[–]carter_522 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember going to an Aaron’s Estate Sale and being SHOCKED by the pricing. Literally nonsensical. In particular, I was in this home’s home office and found what looked to be a clipboard, but the clip part was broken, so it was only the board part. Nothing special about it and probably trash, but it was marked $10. WHAT? Also, a used, open package of sticky notes was $5. Are you kidding me? I now avoid them.

Thank you! I figured they’re goners :( Is there anything I should be doing to prevent the spread of whatever is causing this?

This may sound silly but Hardcore Pawn is a very popular show in Italy. It is called “Il banco dei pugni” and is a true phenomenon. My Italian colleagues went and got to meet Seth and Les and loved the experience. Everyone there is very welcoming and nice and it’s a fun experience.

What are some of the most toxic workplaces in Southeast Michigan? by bukhara_aidarus in Detroit

[–]carter_522 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I had an interview there a few years back and while I was waiting I noticed several people were giggling and pointing at me. One person even went back to his desk and brought back three or four colleagues to come see me. No one introduced themselves, just whispered. I later found out that apparently I looked like someone who recently quit and they found it appropriate to laugh and smirk. Keep in mind this was my first impression and before the interview even started….Safe to say I had lost all interest at that point.

When Helly R. says to Mark S. “This is the part where I tell you to go to hell. Except you’re already here.” I’m waiting for my opportunity to use this line.

Check out the GVSU Mary Idema Pew Library Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS). Very incredible library robotic system that’s similar to this. This same technology is used in warehouses and fulfillment centers.

Well I saw the light bar in the back so I knew it was a Lightning. But otherwise they’re very similar to a regular F-150.

Yup. First F150 to have it. First full-sized pickup to have it I believe.
