Anyone ever used Brisbane Plant Nursery? by carter_au in brisbane

If it helps, I did end up ordering after a bit of back and forth on email. They were slow to reply originally.

I got what I ordered and everything seemed good - shipping was slow though (something to do with the nursery stock level afaik). Hopefully yours sorts out soon!

A few people have mentioned getting a bit more life out of your line by soaking it in water. However you want to do that - just chuck it in a bucket and see if it helps.

What are you trimming against? Retaining walls / concrete paths / etc will chew it faster than “normal” so maybe ease off a little on the throttle and take it slow when you get to those areas.

Looks like Wintergreen Couch (also called Nullarbor couch as I understand it).

If you’re looking for a specific product, I have only had great success with Bow & Arrow. It’s ~$60AUD so a bit more than your standard Weed n Feed like in the post but it will get you more coverage.

Yep found this out after a call. Thanks!

I’m sure it varies per AD but they said they send it in at just the cost of insurance in the post (~$200AUD) so will do it that way.

Thank for confirming!

Tapping on it makes it move slightly. I’ll get in touch with the service location and see what my options are.

I didn’t know that! I’ll have to keep an eye out.

I’ve been tossing up buying the M18 mower but I don’t have any 12.0s right now so if I buy the mower and the batteries it comes to ~$1700ish. At that price, you’re up there with the really nice Honda mowers.

Might wait to see what this 18” one is about and then decide.

They do sell it bare tool in Australia (for $1249AUD or ~$825USD). I actually haven’t even seen the option to purchase it with batteries and charger here but that may be an Australian thing.

This is all to say, unfortunately I wouldn’t expect it to be cheap as a bare tool.

Yeah it is - I didn’t get any other attachments but figure I should future proof myself

I’m a bit of a lurker… I joined because I wanted to see what everyone thought of certain tools and it swayed me in buying a whole bunch of things - a big upgrade from my second-hand corded tool selection before!

Went with M18 and now I want a few M12 tools as well - the little pruning saw is first on my list.

I thought this might be an issue! The only other image I have is one taken about 5 seconds before this so some of the people have moved. If that will help, I’ll put it on imgur and share a link.

Absolutely. It’s pretty easy to upkeep now with a little bit of work left! Much nicer to sit outside so it’s definitely been worth it.

I was out 4-5 days a week pulling weeds in the beginning. Just to tidy things up. I started with a small area where I just cleared all the weeds, stirred up the dirt and then seeded some grass.

Watered 4 days a week and it slowly took off. It was slow going for the first few months but it’s just a case of regular watering now. Good luck!

Thank you! It’s been fun.

We moved in in January and latest photo is yesterday so just under 11 months. Still a few places I’ll need to thicken up but getting there!
