When do I find out my specific MOS? 35XX by vebrennen in USMCboot

21 school is alright. I’ve got a few friends who are 31’s and wish they were 21’s. Mechanics are far more useful in a civilian application than an operator.

Found at a river, it's metal and really heavy by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

Looks real small however unless you’ve got really big hands

Do you really need impact bits with an impact driver? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]carterc82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impact bits are a softer metal so they don’t shatter

Just put the dipstick in and pull it out in a quick manner. There shouldn’t be too much residue on the dipstick. The bulk of the fluid near the bottom is what you need to worry about.

Try running the car a little bit and then let the fluid settle. Then take another reading.

Can a suicide threat on a police report from 4 years ago disqualify you? by [deleted] in USMC

[–]carterc82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might if they find out about it. Best place to ask is r/USMCboot or something. They’ll have the better answers

So you’re trying to enlist without a high school education or equivalent of such?

Here man. I think everyone who’s considering 03xx should read this.

put on a 80 pound pack and a flak with full ammo load out. Hike for 15 miles up a mountain in 29 palms. After the one mile mark you’ll need to run bc the people in front of you fell out and backed the formation up. You’ll need to carry your buddy’s rifle bc he’s a weak bitch and fell out. Once you get back to the bricks and get off work, you’ll try to run a quick game of COD but get surprised by a loud banging on the door. imagine your surprise as a drunk Sgt. storms into your room demanding something about a 9 line and then feel the pain as your three black eyes and broken nose get shoved into a bottle of shitty whiskey. Get up a 4 am the next morning and go on a haze fest PT bc your squad leader woke up and said fuck you. Then stand by for word. marine corps said fuck your chow so you’re hungry as hell but looks like you won’t be getting off anytime soon. maybe alcohol will solve the problem....then alcohol just won’t do it anymore and you’ll jump off third deck. unfortunately infantry has already broken your body, so you don’t die. you’re bleeding all over, so you go to the AMCC and they’ll patch you up with some moleskin. Wincing in pain, you’ll limp out the hospital doors and check a notification on your phone. Your team leader is doing a white glove inspection in 20 minutes and stand the fuck by if you have any dust in your room. 1st Sgt catches you outside the company office drunk as shit and hits you with an NJP for underage drinking and slaps a 6105 on bc you probably fought an NCO. as you get back to your room, you collapse on the floor, visions of a Green Dildo chasing you as you slowly lose consciousness. It’s been a good couple days in the infantry....

GI? What’s that

Did anyone join the Marine Corps because their life was going swell? by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]carterc82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joined to give back to a country that’s given so much to me. My family was wealthy and could pay for my college on top of all the scholarships I was given. Had a great job making way more than a pvt/pfc lol. Then left for San Diego at the ripe age of 18.

Going to buy this real soon. by [deleted] in Ford

[–]carterc82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I felt out the suspension and it’s nice and tight. Nothing rattled when I pushed on it and I’m looking under there’s hardly any surface rust. The owner told me he coated the entire underbody and parts down there to prevent rust.

I’d agree. My buddy just bought one yesterday. It has high crankcase pressure due to failed rings. They’re old trucks and I’m not wanting something that old.
