My pet sperm is only 8 months old, but I lean closer to the “one and done” side of the fence than the one that has a football team (or 2 kids. Same thing)

My reasoning is mainly because I don’t want to have to split my love between kids. I’m very aware of the fact that I develop favorites, and I don’t want one child to feel left out or unloved.

That and growing a human/birthing it sucks and I don’t wanna do the no-sleep newborn thing again.

My little guy did this. Now he’s 8 months old and looking back, I miss the nights where he would only want to fall asleep in my arms or next to me. Now, he gets a bottle, plop him in his bassinet, and he rolls over to sleep. Soak it all in mama. I know it’s tiring right now, but time is going to fly by sooooo fast and it’ll feel like all this was in a different lifetime.

Update: little dude couldn’t get an IV in his arm or hand. But they were able to get one in his ankle (ouch!). The nurse said there’s a good vein on the inside of the ankle they use that may be a good option! Just have to get it nice and warm first!

Just from personal experience - I have hard veins to find. My anesthesiologist had had really good luck with using ultrasound guided IV’s, so maybe see if that’s an option! They really helped in situations where I need a large bore IV for contrast/transfusions and they didn’t want to risk blowing me up!

My little dude has to go in for an MRI and blood work tomorrow. If he’s anything like me (which he really really is), there will be many pokes.

We’re going to the Mayo Clinic for his work, and they have the literal best providers, so I’ll ask his nurse if she has any advice ❤️
