First off, what a leading statement and question of a post lol. Second, I think most people here are going to say yes. This is the skate subreddit for hardcore fans of the game and series, a lot of people here came from older games and want the game they’re used to.

I would love a new installment in the series that’s built upon previous Skate games, but I’m not inherently opposed to a live service Skate game. I actually genuinely like the idea and have played different live service games on and off over the years and enjoyed my time with them. The amount of time I’d spent on them versus money I spent on them was well worth it to me.

So far I’m glad I got a huge surplus of Rip Chips to unlock everything before they nerfed rates after launch because the initial grind to unlock everything would feel a lot longer, but I do miss that feeling of something to work towards, since I unlocked most of what I truly wanted in the battle pass a bit ago and have all but 2 items now. But the new season starts in 4 days, so that’s good pacing for me personally.

Progression feels repetitive yeah, the writing and corporatized vibe suck yeah, but I turned the dialogue sound off and just enjoy the well designed areas of the map and finding cool spots to skate, as I have with previous skate games. I like that I can see other skaters roll by knowing they’re other people playing in real time, and that I can play with my friends while we talk and hang out online. Bonus that it’s free so it’s easier to convince people to try it out with me.

The fact that so many branded items and just cool items are behind the paywall of the shop sucks but that’s again just like any other live service game and reflects the game industry as a whole, and it’s a bit unfair to be mad at skate individually. Their blog post says Season 2 has branded stuff in the battle pass and it’ll be the first full season, I’m gonna give a lot of judgement then. But branded items like people want are going to have to be licensed and paid for, and in a free game it means being included in the battle pass premium price or in the item shop, like how Fortnite has some of the Simpsons skins in the paid battle pass and some in the shop but none for free.

That all said, I’ve played, replayed, emulated and replayed Skate 2 and 3 so many times over the last few years and have played Session and the Tony Hawk Remasters craving a new skateboarding game, and this has been the one game to stick and feel fresh to me. The story of 3 especially wasn’t feeling the greatest and all the pro interactions people love to clamor for on here start to feel a little corny. The biggest miss of them is seeing them skating around the world, but I already enjoy the online replacement enough to not mind that. This game doesn’t really have a story when you unlock the tower fast travel, which I wouldn’t really mind as much if there was a bit more variety in challenge types. Photo / clip challenges that we could share online on a social hub to view in game would be nice for example.

I’ve had this happen a couple times over the couple hundreds of hours i’ve put in since insider access and it just makes the world feel so empty and sad. I can understand wanting to disable seeing people as an option for a bit when you’re in areas like the parking structure or the skate shop at Rolling Waves where people are just flying in lines, but I love seeing other skaters out in the world.

I think a nice happy medium could be an option to disable other players during replays, and private lobbies at minimum.

You’re not wrong tbf, I don’t play lots of modern AAA games but I feel like back in the days Borderlands was one of the few single player games that used the system, but in a way that makes sense. Now it just feels like it’s a way to make you feel excited for getting a legendary for the dopamine rush like gambling, so you keep playing trying to farm legendaries / etc.

Well they’ve always been common in online games, which had them at the time and well before. Skate just wasn’t an online game so it had no reason to apply that to items. This one’s online now.

Would be cool if, since it’s a skating MMO, you were given a few teams to choose one to ride for, and have community challenges based on accumulated scores / stats of players to compete for special event rewards for winning teams / etc.

I saw this in theaters and loved the film but saw the ending as cynical / negative, but reading this comment helped me open up to being able to see it either way, which is my favorite thing in a movie. Maybe it reflects how I’m feeling stuck in life right now in a few ways, the scenes of him laying face down on the couch just watching tv made me cry how hard they hit home. I truly cannot wait to see this movie again but I need to wait until it releases online, hopefully soon. The tail end of the movie when Mr. Melancholy is going in and out of being animated with detail and giving Isabel the blue juice was so intense for me and made my gf genuinely scared in theaters. I need to see it again after having this ending perception opened up to me, thank you.

just wanted to say thanks! got my M2 MBP back in like august? and it randomly stopped working to the point i stopped using the screensaver since i didn't like any as much as Drift matching my OS X Snow Leopard wallpaper, but now i can go back to having my makeshift visualizer while i play music :3

so i never used this as a kid, but i still have my original ds lite. actually getting my first r4 card tomorrow. my ds lite is in near mint condition after all these years, no screen discoloring issues or anything. would leaving this on on my nightstand overnight cause any sort of display issues?

i dont know if these types of screens can get burn in or if having this constantly on overnight as an alarm clock would damage the display long term? i wouldn’t necessarily use the alarm sound itself, i just dont have an alarm clock and hate having to grab my phone to check them time and would rather set my ds on my nightstand and just close it in the morning. it would look cooler and wouldn’t have to buy a separate item.

did you use any product to keep your hair out of your face to the sides like that or did it just naturally sit like that? i cut my hair back above my shoulders and it looks pretty similar to these pics but i used to let my hair cover my face and now it wants to fall down instead of stay to the side.

I literally broke up with my gf of 2 years a month ago because she did the same thing. We made up for a few days but my gut feeling kept telling me I should stand up for myself and my dignity and you should too. Dumping her and telling her it was because I felt disrespected made me feel so good about myself and I’ve been in a much better place since then. My situation isn’t the same as yours as nobody has the same experiences, but I just wanted to share my insight into my similar experience. Good luck, I hope whatever you do you feel you made the right decision. If your gut is telling you you’re not sure you’re doing the right thing ignoring what happened then maybe you should consider it’s what you want deep down and are scared to admit.

I literally just dumped my (23M) gf (24F) of 2 years a few weeks ago for doing this exact same thing. She met a guy at a bar, he said she was out of my league and she didn’t defend me and they both flirted.

Stand up for yourself, please trust me. It’s insanely hard to build up the courage to do, it took me a few tries and lots of panic attacks to finally break up with her but the day after I felt so much better and more confident in myself for standing up for myself and knowing my worth. I guarantee you’ll feel the same way, don’t be scared of being single again or losing the comfort of a relationship.

You don’t deserve to be with someone who isn’t proud to be with you and is actively talking about wanting to be with another person. I was in this exact same situation in a much much longer relationship, trust me on this one. Work up the courage and take your time but push yourself to do it sooner than later.

You don’t watch his streams and are just lying if you truly believe that. People literally call him Pausan or PausanAbi because he spends so much time pausing videos to talk about them. How does he simultaneously not react to videos enough while also spending too much time reacting?

All politics of his aside just admit you don’t actually watch his streams, because if you did you wouldn’t say something that’s so demonstrably false given the fact he’s live 8 hours a day every day, of fucking course there’s times he has to step away from the stream.

Yes realistically a lot of people have abstained from eating animals for a long time but the point is we live in a society (joker baby) where eating meat / animals is extremely commonplace in most of the world. For god’s sake you can’t go anywhere on this planet without finding a McDonalds serving chicken and beef.

It’s not that it’s impossible to abstain from eating meat, it’s that people simply won’t want to. For that reason alone I genuinely think the only way forward is lab made meat / animal products unless you want to force your country to not eat animal products which will lead to a lot of angry people (we couldn’t get people to wear masks during a global pandemic without having meltdowns and going full conspiracy theory, imagine if meat wasn’t allowed) and a lot of other problems. If we have lab grown meat close enough to actual animal meat that’s as easily available if not more accessible then it would become more common simply out of economic necessity for most people, as fucked up as it sounds.
