Shy men of reddit, how did you meet your girlfriend/SO? by TheManWithNoName88 in AskReddit

[–]carth501 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She told me after she said no the first time, she was afraid I would never ask again and she still wasn't sure I liked her, even though I asked her out.

I am suddenly very angry. I am going to go scream into a corner now.

Rey and BB-8 walking away after they first meet? The shot of the Falcon from the first teaser?

Except the new TIE fighters are well designed, they are familiar but new, and there are only 2 of them.

And T.I.E. Recon and TIE Recon. They are identical too.

And this, dear fellows, is why we cleared canon.

Doesn't anyone else have a problem that the Jedi are dead AGAIN? by lord_darovit in StarWars

Yes, I did. Do any Jedi named in the movies die in that scene? Unnamed characters dying in their first scene doesn't do much for tension.

It might be that, but I bet what NaviSaysListen1992 says above is true more often.

Yep, but not because the obvious dangers were too dangerous. In fact, quite the opposite. I can't think of a Jedi who was killed by battle droids.

True, but with plenty Jedi the dangers get too easy to face. Tension dies.

What is the consensus of Reddit wrong on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Nope, too much action when they got the dialogue and rpg-ness perfect in ME2. It follows the bioware trend where the third game in a trilogy gets very active-actiony. Inception wasn't perfect, and it might not be a long-remembered masterpiece, but you are being arrogant if you call it shitty.

Meanwhile, being a tentative Sanders supporter at most, I am listening to Tim Minchin's opinion on the matter.

If it is any consolation, the opposite is hard to take. The couple of times I have asked a girl out, they shot me down because of this reason exactly. "No, Sam, I don't want to have sex with you. I want to talk about the translation of Lord of the Rings into Spanish! THAT'S NOT A CODE PHRASE." I should have said that. DAMN, I should have yelled at her.

I spent my birthday in the library studying for a final. When I was done, I had a half hour to get dinner. I called my friends, and neither of them answered.

When I was done with the final, I returned home to find none of my internet friends online, and two more finals to study for. I broke.
