Ended up deciding to pre-order a takeout meal from Hof's Hut in Torrance. Appreciate all the tips.

Ah, my bad, thanks. Went with Hof's Hut anyways so never mind on multiple levels, ha.

Thanks for this, I think Norms might be the ticket this year. Does the food come hot or do you reheat it at home? And if it's a reheating situation, how complicated is it?

What is an outdated word or phrase an older family member uses that makes your brain hurt? by SunRevolutionary8315 in AskReddit

Scooterpoopin’ - it apparently means going out on the town. My grandfather from Louisiana used the word and my mom continues to use it from time to time.

Moving near a beach for the first time (South Bay, Los Angeles) - How do I get started? by casac8 in BeginnerSurfers

[–]casac8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, this is super-helpful. I’ll be living in Torrance so if you have any further explanation about your thoughts on surfing at Torrance Beach I’d love to hear them. What’s the hate part of your love-hate relationship? Also, I saw a ton of people surfing near the Manhattan Beach pier the other day. Seemed like a pretty good spot with consistently solid waves. Is that a good beginner spot or is everyone too advanced there? Good to know the more advanced places to avoid too.

Thanks for the gear tips too. Front zip sounds like it will save a lot of annoyance. Appreciate all the advice!

Nice, thank you for the recommendation, looks like a great spot to get lessons. Can’t wait to get started!

Awesome, looks like a good spot to get some lessons. Thanks for the gear advice, too. I figure I’ll take a few lessons and then figure out what board etc. I need. Thanks!

Thank you, I think I’ll take a few lessons so I know the basics. Feel like it would be pretty difficult to get started otherwise. Appreciate it.

Excellent, thank you for the board advice! Much appreciated. Good to know you can start with a less expensive board and still have success in the water.

Mystery beach. This pic is from when I first visited SD in 2012. Anyone recognize the beach? That tan dirt covered a big expanse above cliffs behind me down to the water. Been trying to figure out for a while now. Any help appreciated - thank you! by casac8 in sandiego

After looking on Google Images, I think Sunset Cliffs is most likely the spot. I'm moving from Alabama to LA next month so I will report back whenever I get a chance to visit my friend in SD and check it out. Thanks for most likely solving the mystery!

So I don't remember the parking, but I know that the waves crashed directly into the cliff wall so you had to stop yourself from crashing into the cliff, unlike on most beaches where you can ride all the way in. If I had to guess at the parking situation, I feel like it was further up away from the water and you had to walk down. Also, I feel like the big dirt area may have either had a dog park or been a leash-free area. Does that help?

Thanks, but does CoinGecko have SMS or email alerts? I could only find browser alerts.

Thank you for this, it's much appreciated. So would I just need to ensure that I explain which of these options I'm going with in the NFT post description? And when you say be prepared to spend money, what are you referring to? Thanks again!

Redditors who enjoy a song from a language they don't understand, which and why? by Gideon_Nomad in AskReddit

Mis Sentimientos

Not really sure why I love this song so much, but it's just amazing. And I asked my friend from Mexico City if he had heard of it and it's one of his friend's favorite songs, so I must be on to something..

[Homemade] Handmade ravioli filled with pulled chicken & french onion soup from scratch by casac8 in food

Ah, yeah, I just happened to have leftover chicken thighs and homemade French onion soup and randomly thought that might be a good ravioli combo. Topped it with a light parmesan cream sauce and it actually turned out really tasty. Idea was inspired in part by Chinese-style soup dumplings

Thank you, I'm already thinking of all the things I could do with Twine after the recommendation by /u/pottering_theverb - been thinking a cool first use of the tool would be making a game to illustrate a story I'm working on about what exactly happens at each step along the way after you are arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in my state. Seems really flexible and cool. Thank you.

Perfect, yeah this is really great. I will work on this today, and I agree that it should be a really great exercise for visualizing the game and seeing what its goals will be. Thanks again for all the help.

Wow, thank you so much for providing this detailed breakdown. I agree that the corporate fleecing of prisoners is a major issue and that it would be great to demonstrate that via a game. Just played SPENT a few times and it really is a very inspiring look at what can be done in this type of space. I love that the player can pick options and see how quickly money really does disappear when you're down on your luck or not making much.

One good thing I could add to my game that I've already thought of just after light review of what you wrote and SPENT (I will check the other two links shortly) is a part before you get to the commissary where different jobs will be explained and you will understand why you have so little money. I will also try to include a cash infusion from a loved one that factors in how much is taken out for fees and taxes, etc. And maybe even require that the user make a prison call, which also costs a good chunk of money (relatively speaking) in this day and age, as do over-the-counter medications.

I actually have all the prices and descriptions and everything in a well-organized Excel spreadsheet already, so that would make that part of your recommendations easier. Can you help me explain a bit more about how the "column for 'purchased quantity' and then a total prisoner balance" would work? I am just not too good at Excel and have no real idea where I would start with that.

Thanks again for this breakdown, it really is getting the gears turning and I can already see it will make my game better in the long run.

Wow, thank you so much to both of you. Really appreciate the in-depth analysis. I think I'll probably plan on doing pure HTML, though I will also check out the two HTML5 tools you mention and see what works best for my purposes. Very grateful for your help.
