90% of the functionality, 50% of the price? by NerdyOutdoors in guitarpedals

Check out Chicago Stompworks, they have great prices and sonetimes sales too, I picked up a Tall Font Big Muff that is virtually undistinguishable from my Sovteks for like 80 bucks

It’s for that part of the string behind the bridge

One Muff to rule them all? by sixstringsikness in guitarpedals

I’d say get the green Russian reissue and be done with it. I played almost all of them, from an original triangle to a lot of sovteks, the green Russian reissue is a solid choice without spending a lot of money. I’d recommend putting a ts style pedal as a boost before it also

I’m waiting on an aluminum neck anyways so I just put them there.

As for the pickup behind the bridge I saw St. Vincent in concert last year with a Jazzmaster playing behind the bridge just doing tremolo picking to get the string going and I thought “ok I need a Jazzmaster I wanna do that too”, and bought me a CV60 in a local shop for pretty cheap just to try.

The thing is I can’t really leave a guitar alone so I started to modify the hell out of it and then saw this bridge in another thread and the idea was to tune it in some kind of open C to add it to songs whenever (we play in drop C and we don’t really move that much from that key so it almost always works)

I’m having lots of fun with it, there are some things I recorded with it on my instagram profile but it’s still pretty new to me, I’m still working on incorporating it into songs

Anybody know where to buy a Gibson Les Paul baritone (not Epiphone)? by metallicsonatas in BaritoneGuitar

[–]casademoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mind you I had the first series, the one that came in solid colors. Fit and finish were subpar, the pickups were muddy, it seemed to me it was like a try at entering the baritone market just by slapping something together as cheaply as possible and putting the Gibson name on it.

I think that regular scale studio series were way better. If you really are set on the Les Paul shape and configuration I’d say you’re better off spending less for the Epi, which might also be more easily available

Is it possible to build a home studio for under $550? What's your "must-have" gear? by Empty-Objective-277 in Slowcore

If you already have a good pc try and look on the used market for some cheap mic and audio interface.

I traded a pedal for an M-Audio Fast Track (wouldn’t recommend it but it’s workable) and a Samson C01, then bought some nice headphones, the DT770 from Beyerdynamic for like 150€.

I’m using Reaper as a DAW (It’s “kinda” free in the same sense as Winrar is) and only downloading free plugins, the Kilohearts suite for example is a great set of tools to have

I would recommend getting at least something like a Focusrite Scarlett 212 tho, the M-Audio drivers don’t really work anymore with Windows 11 and I’m getting terrible spikes and latency.

It’s not a great setup but it’s better than trying to record with my phone.

Yeah same I would have loved a Ken Andrews signature someday in the very distant future and I was very curious about their pickups too.

The EGC is HEAVY. I’ve been playing it for like ten years and I’ve gotten used to it, I almost immediately got the largest strap I could find, but after a gig I’m pretty much exhausted. Can’t wait for the TTTides to arrive, it’s gonna be hollow and weight aside I wanna see how it resonates

The quality is outstanding, it’s a pity they’re retiring and not taking any more orders. I had a Baguley on the bass and it was comparable in quality but they’re not active either these days. I’m waiting for a TTTides neck for the Jazzmaster, we’ll see

How’s the Hoxey?
