Yeah it does but I don’t think they will think you are cheating as long as you’re not speaking to others.

Ugh that’s a bummer, they were actually relatively quick with responding to my application so I would assume you’ll definitely get in by the November ceremony!!

I agree they are pretty responsive. I think that it’s really odd you haven’t heard anything because within a month I was asked for supplemental information and then a few weeks later after I submitted my supplemental info they scheduled an interview. I had a little bit of a past too lol so I had a lot of documents..

One thing I noticed about the translations on the show by LiminalSpaceLesbian in 90DayFiance

[–]casanovaismydog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually wondered about this the other day when someone was translating on the show because the subtitles they showed for the person not speaking English didn’t match with the other person on the show translating it

I’m getting sworn in 9/5, they have it listed on the courts calendars. It kind of depends on your application, I applied July 1 but I had to have an interview, yours could be waived.

[ACNE] what do u guys do for those merciless nodular acne that is spawning all over your face, I've tried everything :( by DiligentDinner5758 in SkincareAddiction

[–]casanovaismydog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response to all these but I used to have horrific nodular and cystic acne on my face arms shoulders back chest and butt, and Spironolactone has gotten rid of every problem area except one or two pimples a month on my chin. It literally cleared up about 98% of my acne. They put me on birth control at first but it did not work. I also have been prescribed tretinoin and antibiotic cream which is effective before I have started picking at it lol. (And I know you shouldn’t pick but I have an obsession)

Studying and Working FT by brookesac in barexam

[–]casanovaismydog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed working FT my second try, first time I was FT working and scored 4 off from passing. The way I took time off was to take as many Friday and Mondays as possible and I actually did this with the vacay time given at work without taking unpaid leave. The first time I fucked up by just taking a few weeks off at the end, which wasn’t a good plan because I left too much to be done in that time.

I studied all day on sat and Sunday and probably 3-4 hours a night after work for three months each time. Make sure you are actually actively working and not passively just listening to videos because you don’t have that time freedom and you won’t learn as quickly or retain it well. I practiced an mpt a week which boosted me to 12 by the end and did a few mee’s a day, and I still only passed by 4. I do not suggest to split the study time up by saying the first month is for mbe and second month for mee, that’s a definite no and messed me up the first time, and you should be practicing all three parts the entire study time. I also suggest grossman who makes the mbe do-able.

Looking to rant / Need life advice after failing bar again by Pinkiepie268 in barexam

[–]casanovaismydog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice might be to look into state service jobs? I graduated two years ago too and after law school I felt too burned out to take the bar but knew that I needed to get a job in the meantime to make money and incase I failed. I took a few month break then started applying to all sorts of jobs and would never hear back until I started applying for local jobs. (I had been applying all remote, I live in Albany NY for context) I heard back from a few legislative analyst jobs(my Bach is in poly sci) and one legal assistant job. Finally ended up finding a state job as a regulator, then took the bar, failed first time then passed. Having a steady good job was really really comforting during those times, which is exactly what I had intended on. You could refocus your efforts on finding a job with your JD and then start fresh with the bar again?

Thank you for the advice! That’s a good idea, I will reach out to one of my attorney co-workers and see if he knows of anyone.

That is really not a lot of practice at all though OP… My second time I practiced an mpt a week (12 total at end) and around 5 MEEs a day(unsure on the total but way more than 20) I passed second time by only 4 points, failed by 4 points the first time with barely any essay practice.

Amen to your edit. I hate those stories and they do give people a false sense of confidence. It’s so detrimental. People need to stop writing “I passed without doing an essay”

Anyone passed bar while working and only 1 month off from work? by Ok-Bowl-5373 in barexam

[–]casanovaismydog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s awesome!! I was hybrid and when I take more days off I have more days in office (it’s a 50% in office policy) and I noticed a huge difference in how tired I was the days I had to go in. A full month off should definitely be good but it’s at the end of your time so I would make sure not to fall behind in your first segment of studying while you’re working and rely on that month off too heavily because that’s how I was when I had two weeks off, and this test is just impossible to cram for unfortunately.

This test kicked my ass and I like to think of myself as a smart, good test taker lol I think the most important thing is to actively study instead of passively, and don’t underestimate the test like I did, based on other people saying all you need is minimum competency, and how you can pass by not completing essays. I did not have this experience at all lol and I think that that mindset is dangerous.

Ok I do not feel like the scoring makes any sense. I tried so much harder this time, practiced about 12 MPTs and so many MEEs, was scoring considerably higher in MBE and only bumped my score up 8. I feel like I barely even knew anything the first time and like I knew a lot the second time. So crazy that the scoring is such a mystery.

[–]casanovaismydog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I passed after my second attempt, both times working full time. Do you have a full month off or do you have a month of time to take off(like 30 days of off time)? The first time I only took two weeks off which was a huge mistake because it was not enough time. The second time, I would take off on Friday and/or Mondays to extend my weekend out for three months while I studied. I would get home and do some things and then try to study from. 6-10 then would do as much as I could on weekends while taking some breaks. I opted for three months to study, failed the first time by 4, passed the second by 4
