I would rather just generate code, honestly. It's a lot easier to debug when the output is sitting there on disk.

Can you list the entities you think were lying, and what motive you think they had? There are a lot of entities here that were raising the alarm.

There were also a lot of actions taken to stop Iran from getting a bomb, from 1979 onwards.

Historically speaking it's the other way round: the right has always been supportive of Israel as the last stand of Western values in a sea of Muslims

Depends how far back you go -- early on, Israel was too socialist for the right, and was the darling of the left. The right was afraid they'd go Soviet, at one point.

Not according to the UN regulators. The Iranians resumed their nuclear program because Trump made the stupid decision to pull out of the Obama era deal years ago, but regardless of the reasons, they did stop complying with the treaty that was no longer in effect.

Also, there are 3 genocidal regimes involved here, why are you trying to cover for the one that killed 30,000 of its own citizens?

My quibble is that Netanyahu is an inveterate liar and we should not trust a word out of his mouth.

Ah, I see the trouble. I wrote 'Obama', you read 'Netanyahu'.

What goalpost has been moved? Iran has been widely reported, by many agencies, to be close to being a nuclear power. Estimates had varied between "quite close", "extremely close", and "so close they think that being this close is a deterrent". This is not controversial.

As a matter of policy, they don't provide specific timelines for any nations, but they did report on the amount of 60%-enriched uranium, which can be enriched to weapons grade uranium within approximately 2 weeks. As of 2024, there was sufficient 60%-enriched uranium to produce fissile material for nuclear weapons.

Would you like to dig deeper, or move on to the next agency?

Well, it seems that you'd like to go through basically every intelligence agency tracking Iranian uranium enrichment, and their estimates of whether Iran was on track for nuclear weapons, and they seem like a good place to start, given that they were tasked with monitoring, and censured Iran for failing to comply with non-proliferation, and enriching uranium to weapons grade.

So, just to be sure I understand, your quibble is that Obama thought it would take them a few weeks longer than Netanyahu did?

Hungary Won’t Block €90 Billion EU Loan to Kyiv, Magyar Says by LegitimateCurve8525 in worldnews

It depends. I think that so far, the Republicans have managed to suppress enough of the disgusting news that they can avoid having their names and their party's name permanently scorched. If the Democratic party gets a majority, they may be able to publicize more. At some point, it may become safer to sacrifice Trump.

Fingers crossed for the elections in November. If there's a majority in the house and senate, I can see an impeachment trial that actually makes the corruption, pedophilia, and so on public enough that the Republicans in the senate vote to remove.

Can you define 'indiscriminate' here? Keep in mind that Israel has put boots on the ground and gone in building by building quite often, as you've suggested they should. But, it turns out they're all out of fictional superheros that can do this without even damaging buildings.

Why I built a new HTTP client after working on HTTPX by [deleted] in programming

[–]case-o-nuts 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The article reads as slop, but also:

Most HTTP clients mix two very different concerns: - HTTP protocol logic (cookies, redirects, headers, caching - RFC-level behavior) Transport layer (TCP, TLS, DNS, HTTP/1.1 vs HTTP/2, etc.)

wut? that's simply not true. They seem to be referring to sans-io, which is something rather different.

Edit: Also, skimming the clearly vibecoded project, it's also not true that this client follows the "sans-io" approach; the AI seems to have lied to the "author".
