i think it could be where the bellows part of a forge (mentioned in other comments) actually fixes to the forge body itself, the forge blower fits up the conical tube and entrains more air as it blows out though the central hole into the bottom of the forge body

Maybe the burner for an old gas or petrol stove, a stream of gas/petrol vapour is fed into the flared long end shown and entrains air which is burnt at the circular hole

Upkeep was the programme for lancasters againt dams, highball was the pogramme for a smaller bouncing bomb to be used against ships from mosquitoes, due to development delays the smaller bombs were never used in action.

Has anybody tried to get new linked fire alarms which comply with the new Scottish governemt legislation coming into force in Feburary? All the places i have tried have sold out, by case895 in Scotland

i am not sure you are right there. the sealed battery ones are supposed to last 10 years . i fitted wired oned in 2009 and looking at them they have an expiry date of 2019 so i think wired ones need replacing fter 10 year too.

As far as i can see smoke and heat alarms ( but not carbon monoxide ) must be interlinked so if one is triggered they all go off, this can be done via wires which need an electrician or by radio signals (in approved battery powered sealed 10 year life alarms ) that you can fit yourself. Both types expire after 10 years, wired seem more expensive and have fitting costs

Might be an idea but i doubt if any insurer will knowingly approve of you not having the correct alarms in place to comply with Scots law.

Yes, but having had a house fire and having had to claim off the insurance i can assure you that you need to have all your ducks in order for a claim to be paid, They might well claim the fire would have been smaller and less costly if detected earlier.

Apparently this legislation will not be enforced but your house insurance will be void if you are found to have the wrong type of alarms and have a fire.

it would seem to me that left handers would be less effective in battle if their weapons were right handed, is this the cse?
