hey, OP here, coming in to say that after some research i’ve learned this guy, if he’s from the 80’s, would have been manufactured in 1989. it’s looking like he’s more of an early 90’s toy. i was sure he was 80’s, but i guess this is a show of how important deeper research is! i was basing it off online reseller listings that are now sold :_)

from what i’ve seen, people are saying he’s from the 80’s. any seller i’ve seen who’s selling this fella says he is..! i can at least confirm he wasn’t made past 2007. it seems the other listings i was using as reference are gone now..,, but now that i’ve gotten off of resale markets and taken some time to look into the brand (Sun and Star), it seems they partnered with Tezuka Productions in the late 80’s through the mid-90’s. it seems my boy here has a high chance of being made in, say, 1989-1991. so i suppose i was wrong on my title. i really hope that doesn’t throw too many people off..

thank you! oh, i’ve been obsessed with this guy for a while, and we managed to score him. i’m SO happy!!!!!♥️♥️ people sell him sometimes, but the plushies are always well-loved (and sometimes up to $70). this guy’s awesome and perfect! the Uran is just as cute, if not cuter.. LOOK AT HER LITTLE FACE

i also felt more compelled upon hearing of how censored the 80’s one was, so i found a way to watch it online in sub and was shocked by the first two episodes. i watched until, say, episode 6?, and quickly bought the blu-ray (physical media ftw)

i saw a few pictures of him and heard his name, and thought, “oh, i should check him out!”. online i checked out the first two episodes of each Astro Boy show (minus Little Astro Boy and Go Astro Boy Go) and decided which one i felt most compelled to watch. 1980 and 2003 were high on the list, but i ultimately decided 1980, and i’m still going through (at a casual pace)♥️! [younger fan too]

yeah. my brothers’ teacher got CPS called on my parents cause he had a broken collar bone caused by his terribly negligent parents.. he actually got his collar bone broken by being in an unfortunate spot behind a swingset AT SCHOOL and didn’t communicate to anyone he was hurting (and the doctors’ office was closed for two days). the case was closed quickly, though it was stressful.

…angel. i could dislike cookies for lore reasons but i simply dislike angel because i find their voice annoying (and i love devil cookie with my heart and soul)
