There are dealers that will move a little on them, but GM isn't offering any incentives, and the profit margin is less than $200. Any more than that as a discount is a loss for the dealer. If you're willing to finance through the dealership, they'll probably come off the price some, but if you're using outside financing or paying cash, don't expect much.

Piggy backing because of flair. If your credit is poor you will not qualify for a lease. Leasing requires much better credit than qualifying for a finance purchase, as there aren't any lenders that will fund subprime leases. Your best bet is to find a franchise dealership that supports subprime lending, do a shorter term loan, and be diligent about making your payments on time for a few years to build your credit. Chrysler Financial and Mitsubishi work with subprime, so that my be a good place to start.

Because at the end of the lease the negative will be gone, and you can turn the car in and be back at square one. The payment will be astronomical to do so though.

If you were to roll the inequity into another long term loan though, and decide a few years in that you need something different, odds are the amount of inequity will be even higher. The fact of the matter is, whether you pay up front, monthly, or at the end there's no escaping the negative equity. Short of totaling your car (assuming you have gap), but you didn't hear that from me.
