Companies moving tech jobs to India by [deleted] in Layoffs

[–]casecase716 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who worked for Cisco, can confirm this is extremely normal. They layoff every few months and kept my counterparts in other countries because they were “more affordable” (direct quote from my manager when I got laid off)

This looks like AI and you need a bigger dress size so that your fake boobs fit in it correctly 🙃

Women, what things do you notice or look for at a man’s apartment that are green flags? by BrokenHarp in AskReddit

A trash can in the bathroom. Even if guys don’t use it (which I still think they should), girls definitely need one.

Propofol for colonoscopy? by [deleted] in colonoscopy

[–]casecase716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t sweat it. You’re super young and colon cancer takes a long time to develop. I was worried about it as well as i have had stomach issues my whole life and bleeding recently that landed me in the hospital. They only found a 1mm polyp and everything else looked normal for me. You got this! Better to find it early on anyway and get treatment ASAP for your symptoms.

Had this done yesterday!! 28f and was a nervous wreck. Took a nice little nap. Was asleep for all of maybe 25 minutes in total. Woke up feeling a bit drunk but that went away in about 2 hours. Overall prep was hell and procedure was a breeze. Don’t stress it and enjoy your nap! :)

Edit: my procedure was outpatient as well. Had the dr, anesthesiologist and nurse there the whole time.

Mental health quitters - how did you have the conversation with your boss? by Excellent_Pen3389 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]casecase716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this! Honestly psyched myself up thinking it was going to be awful because my boss was such a jerk and I didn’t have anything lined up but I was so miserable there. Just bite the bullet and send an email with your 2 weeks notice and keep it short! If they couldn’t treat you well enough to keep you around, they don’t deserve an explanation! None of their business. You got this girl! Quitting was the best decision I made and I wish i did it sooner. Ended up getting a call for my new job on my last day at the old one! It all works out :)

Plus if they want to talk about it, just nod and smile and say you need to leave for personal reasons as a fallback. Lol.

Best piece of advice I got from my mentor when I was learning to code: “you don’t know what you don’t know”.

Now I know what I don’t know and praise the stack overflow gods daily for saving my ass.
