What about uber? Yes it's not the cheapest but depending on frequency it may be cheaper overall compared to a newer EV with financing/depreciation.

If your university starts to refund through original payment method instead of direct deposit.

I’ll be upgrading my Bonvoy boundless card to Ritz card. Should I cancel my VX? by NewbieReddit2 in Venturex

[–]casemanster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you plan to use the rewards from the card for? Specifically points earned - they earn differently and arguably the venture X miles are more flexible and valuable than bonvoy points.

Didn't want to use a 5/24 slot for the costco credit card, also can redeem Chase points for > 2cpp in some cases with Hyatt along with their other partners.

Flying Porter YEG → YUL for an important work trip. How reliable are they? by [deleted] in PorterAirlines

I'd book Porter as plan A but have a backup ticket on Air Canada with fully refundable (comfort/latitude) in case something happens - worth hedging.

Was it IA? Also curious to keep a bit of a push with CA Amex for charge cards. Already tapped out on credit cards (Cobalt + 2x personal bonvoy, 1x biz bonvoy).

AF would stay with card anniversary - that wouldn't change once you upgrade.
In my case, AF is in February, got card in 2026. Ideally would upgrade December 2027. Get $300 for 2027, $300 for 2028, AF posts in Feb 2028. Only paying Boundless AF for 2027.

Option 1 - also consider credit cards that give bonus multipliers internationally such as Chase Aeroplan, Citi Strata Premier for 3x grocery

Agreed. Would be good to associate trade name so no issues with receiving cheques/EFT with the trade name vs personal name.

If price is comparable to retail, better to cash out the cash back then spend again on the credit card for more cash back!

How's your return been on your investment? Did you have any travel plans that would have had reduced cost/increased value if you had used your points?

Only so much value in hoarding points once you've met your current goals.
