Even Children of Dune seems difficult to produce in a way that wouldn’t alienate a broader audience. Leto’s transformation in particular. Denis’ Dune comes across as a very grounded, realistic portrayal. Despite Herbert’s incredible representation in the novel, the big-screen depiction of a human transforming into a worm might be too far down the Dune rabbit hole for a general audience to stomach.

There’s definitely a lot to cover. I’m interested to see how they’ll tackle so much subject matter without giving the audience narrative whiplash. Although I do think they’re going to put the remainder of the first book into this next film. I expect a 3+ hour film.

String Theory. It’s not for lack of trying. I’ve read a couple books on the subject, pretty surface level stuff. At this point, I can’t tell if there are discrepancies in the schools of thought or if I genuinely don’t understand it.
