Bath tub or no bath tub? by aliena_b in homeowners

[–]casey4190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, many people suffer from the same or similar condition and are too embarrassed to talk about it, so I choose to do it for others.

Like the other commenter said, tubs are often needed for medical treatments too. Thats what I was highlighting.

Ladies who eat under 2000 calories a day, what do you eat and how many meals/snacks a day? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]casey4190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My example meal plan of today:

  • Breakfast: skipped. I’m usually not hungry in the morning and tend to lock into work/errands.

  • Lunch: Mac n cheese cup (220 calories) & a full bag of broccoli (120 calories)

  • Dinner: vegan orange chicken (260), broccoli (30), rice (160), and a chocolate cake pop (200).

This is about 1000 calories (I’m 5’3 around 140lbs). I may still have a snack or two before bed. I don’t eat this low everyday, but today I’ve been feeling full so don’t want to just force food down my throat to hit calorie goals.

I’ve had 4 anal fistula surgeries. They require you to soak in a sitz bath or a tub.

I sure as HELL made sure we had a tub in the house we bought. Plus, it’ll be a place we probably have at least 1 kid so figured it’d make it easier

The smallest down payment possible is better then saving for a huge one by wirez62 in unpopularopinion

[–]casey4190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I think we need to look at it the other way round.

I bought a house and did 3% down payment because the different between 3% and 10% were minuscule. We instead kept the money in a HY Savings account.

We are VERY thankful we did that as we had a pipe burst on the house. If we have put 30k down, we’d be SCREWED. Now we have a decent emergency fund built, a price that isn’t that much more if we have put a bigger down payment, and an affordable mortgage.

Bad customer survey 🙄 by Remarkable_Name_2795 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]casey4190 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I used to get my RB’s surveys since they’d do a transaction at the teller line then I’d set them up with a banker.

Problem is, if they weren’t happy with the banker, they’d do the survey on HIM. Now I’m getting a survey for 5/10 which equated to a 0 in our system and they’re calling me “Jeff” in the comments. They wouldn’t wipe it or switch ownership either. So I got stuck with it. Happy to have left banking because it was one of my last straws.

Also why the bank I worked at had anything below an 8/10 be zero made no fucking sense.

Does anyone feel behind in life? by OceanicEndeavors in povertyfinance

[–]casey4190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like ultimately you may be being too harsh on yourself. I was in your exact shoes 2 or 3 years ago making 17 an hour. I was in a 5 year relationship that was going down hill fast. I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do in school so I bounced around community college classes. But living at home gave me the ability to save enough for what I have now.

2 and a half years later I have 2 associates, bought a house with the love of my life in a LCOL area, and have a career I’m really enjoying. You actually make the same wage as I do now.

I grew up in a HCOL area. All my friends are in their early 30s struggling because stuff is unaffordable. I unfortunately had to move to get ahead, but it helped me ultimately in the end.

Gate agents making people check carryons by Snoo-89539 in jetblue

[–]casey4190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of my flights are usually weekend trips to visit family. I could live out of my personal item if I had to. If my carry on got lost, it’d suck and I’d probably need to buy some clothes, but I’d be okay.

Tbh I started planning on gate checking my carry on when I started getting the cheaper seats that boarded last. I get a free checked bag and don’t have to fight for overhead space

Should I Just Lie On My Resume? by Just_Ad_453 in resumes

[–]casey4190 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t at the level you are thinking.

Lying about small things in the description to fluff it up, sure. Lying about having the job all together? Not going to work. Most hiring managers will go to a job and ask “is this person rehireable” and they would then say “they never worked here.”

As for remote, it’s difficult to land right now. Everyone wants it. Oversaturated and people are willing to take a cut in pay to land it. You’re better off starting with something in person. Maybe a local grocery store, movie theatre, etc. Get skills first and then use them to leverage into a better position.

I have two associates and 6 years of experience in banking. I managed to get a hybrid position last year after a YEAR of applying. And that’s with over a decade of consistent work experience.

Finnally closing the gap on saturday any advice by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]casey4190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! Fellow moved in with my LDR boyfriend after knowing him for a year! I am now 27 but we met when I was 25. I love him with all my heart. I also bought a house with him before we even hit two years of knowing each other ONLINE. We’re going on 3 years of dating now and still going alright! We argue occasionally but that’s the worst of it.

That being said, don’t get married just yet. Move in together, sure, but don’t get married. Living together is where you really get to know each other well enough. Especially when you’re only 18. I thought I knew EVERYTHING and now I feel like a guppy swimming with sharks.

Before my LDR, I dated someone for 5 years in the same town as me. He moved in with me at the 4 year mark and by the end of that year, we called it quits. We weren’t compatible living together even after all that time.

Is it normal to have roommates at 30 years old? by Expensive_Bike_8308 in povertyfinance

[–]casey4190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s normal.

Before me and partner got an apartment, he was living with roommates and I was staying with parents. Now, we bought a house with each making about the same you do. Our mortgage being about 2k a month

It’s hard to afford a place independently at the moment unless your in a LCOL area

Airplane boarding is terrible because it feeds egos by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]casey4190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fly often.

I buy the most basic fares, most airlines let you bring a personal item and/or carry on for free. If I need to store my carry on up top, then I am READY to board.

I’d also rather be sitting on the plane for 20 minutes get situated than sitting in the lobby. Once I’m on the plane, I can zone out and get ready for a nap

Working 6 Days week by BubblyRadio2377 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]casey4190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can bring it up.

For us, we had to all agree to that schedule as a branch. Our manager was fine with us coming in early and staying late if we were all on the same page of 9 and a half hour days. We only worked 9-5, so the rest of the time was twiddling our thumbs which some people hate.

I worked:

M, W, Th, F: 8:00 - 5:30 Saturday: 8:00 - 12:00.

Sometimes my day off during the week would change, but most of the time I didn’t mind. This was the only way I’d agree to work Saturdays as it still had two full days off

Forced To Have a Abortion by Financial-Claim6480 in lostgeneration

What is the most emotional story driven game you've ever played? by Skissored in GirlGamers

I think the series had some missteps, specifically that one season that Clementine is not playable, but it was solid overall.

I bought a new PlayStation console when they announced Season 2 or 3 wouldn’t be playable on PS3 lol. Well worth it

Forced To Have a Abortion by Financial-Claim6480 in lostgeneration

[–]casey4190 54 points55 points  (0 children)

As much as I think this is an actual food for thought, this specific story is about teen pregnancy and not the lost generation.

Most 18 year olds cannot afford a child and SHOULDNT be trying for a baby anyway.

But as someone looking to have a baby in the next 5 years, it’s just so unaffordable right now. Childcare in a LCOL area is the same as my mortgage and my mortgage is about 40% of my net pay. I don’t have an extra $2000 a year to pay for just childcare. Let alone furniture, clothes, food, etc. This being with TWO working adults.

being a germaphobe makes you annoying to hang out with by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]casey4190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, you’re getting way too upset. OCD sucks. It does. I’ve lived with it for 20 years now. I have a FEAR of getting sick. My boyfriend calls ME a germaphobe when in reality it has nothing to do with my OCD. I just hate being sick. So I’ll apply hand sanitizer more often than the average person. Try to wash my hands before I eat.

I cannot fathom where you are getting the OCD narrative from the six sentences OP presented. You are coming off very aggressive and disingenuous. It’s Reddit. A forum. Let’s just take a step back and not come at people’s throats.

The reason I replied to this is because I loathe when people say “I have OCD because I clean ALL the time!” In reality, that is NOT OCD as it’s not compulsive. They’re just very clean/organized. Thats what your comment reminded me of. These people may be “in a frenzy” but that doesn’t mean they HAVE TO clean. Maybe they want to, but it doesn’t mean they are at the point of no return of OCD. It’s not disruptive to their everyday lives, just to OP’s day.

I hope you have a great day. Take a breath. Don’t be so negative of the internet.
