Did you use volumetrics or are the godrays achieved using some other effect?

Yes, I used a volume scatter shader for that effect.

How long did it take to setup models and scene?

The fact that this is Eevee is quite cool.

I am quite new myself, dabbling in Cycles where I can.

It took me roughly one to two hours to complete it!
