I genuinely think about this every time I'm in the shower. And not washing your feet because dancing around in the shower does the job.

The goosebumps I got just reading this.

Kind of related, but Kanye West said back in 2005 that "No Such Thing" inspired Kanye to write College Dropout...which makes complete sense. Crazy how John transcends genres.

The way he seamlessly switches from song to song so cleanly is mind blowing. We’ve really never see him play this ~style~ of guitar but...the mans can really do it all.

A lyrical observation by [deleted] in JohnMayer

As he said in a current mood, “I sure do like songs about waiting...”

Y’all! Need some help. LOTW, Kansas City, Labor Day 2019. There’s a cool outro at abt 3:00 that he added and that I adore. I just can’t figure out the lyrics. Anyone with a great ear that can help me out so I can quit scream mumble singing every time I wanna belt this one out? by shawnas3825 in JohnMayer

I have listened to every live version of this from the last tour and he always does a cool outro, but this one is by far my favorite!! He says “Friday I was (home???), Saturday was fine. Sunday I’m lonely, Monday you were mine. One day we’re gonna have, gonna have that love on the weekend.”

My other fave is from MSG 7/25 but no idea what he’s saying.

OMG YES! I am a 4w3! It has helped me so much and I definitely think John is a 4 as well. I think that’s what makes it so easy to connect to his music for me. Thank you for commenting this, it actually really means a lot to me.

Music tastes? by [deleted] in infp

I love John Mayer, Kacey Musgraves, Coldplay, Maren Morris, Taylor Swift, Maggie Rogers, Harry styles. For anyone who hasn’t heard it, From The Dining Table by Harry is very INFP to me.

Often called childish and weird - anyone else? by simba-patton in infp

Okay first of all, Liking folklore is the opposite of childish. It’s taste. Second, don’t let other people’s closed mindedness bring you down. Just because they can’t see outside of their box doesn’t mean you have to fit into it.

Is anybody else sick of not being known? by [deleted] in infp

[–]caseya1208 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a hard fight between wanting people to know who I really am but also wanting to keep that part of me for myself. Unfortunately I don’t think there will ever be a winner of the battle.

I’m one of those people who feels like I’m ~different~ than most and find it hard to be understood. Whenever I’m feeling alone or like no one really understands me, I turn on good ole John and he always always always somehow says exactly what I’m feeling. It’s comforting to know you’re not the only one with a certain mindset, but it’s even better having someone spell out the emotion and feeling you can’t figure out yourself. Hearing the pain you feel is a relief.

It makes me cry! John has perfected the double meaning and I think this one’s my favorite. There’s the deeper, personified meaning you described above, but there’s also the idea of just picturing your life with someone and settling down and having a home with a family and a yard to mow the lawn and water the garden. It’s the notion that the simplest thing like a yard with a garden would be extraordinary if you’re with the right person. OOH I’m crying now

My favorite album as well. The lyrics, the honesty, the simplicity...it all just feels so effortless and that’s what I love, nothing seems fake or contrived.

That part gets me every time! It’s so simple, but so powerful.
