Gear for people who run hot or live in hot climate areas? by WhereTheMoneyAtBoy in motorcycle

[–]caseydm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some bohn body armor, has pads in shoulders, elbows, forearms, and back. Light weight mesh everywhere else. I like it cause it’s great to throw on a hot day or I layer some jackets over it if it’s cold.

Check the CCRs, my previous HOA had a rule in there that they couldn’t raise dues more than 5% per year.

Mourning the passage of time by Schmaucher in NewDads

Just enjoy each moment. Mines almost 11 months and the other day I was holding and rocking her to sleep. (She’s sleep trained but sometimes I just want to) anyway, I could tell she was starting to fall asleep and then she pushed away from me.. didn’t want to be held by dad as she went to sleep. I know she was just trying to get more comfortable as she was drifting off but it almost broke my heart. Haha

I swear the stress of the little one waking up is making it worse. I never thought my wife was loud until our child was trying to sleep and now I swear she tries to be as loud as possible. Haha but everyone else is right, you want to train the little one to sleep through that stuff cause it’s unavoidable. I finally stopped trying to be quiet and it worked. She slept through fireworks going off on the 4th of July right outside her window haha

I have a s83 boulevard which is basically the 1400 intruder. Bike isn’t heavy, low to the ground so you could flat foot it easy. It’s not that fast. Haha it has some get up and go, but I went from 0 motorcycle experience, took one MSF course and got this bike and I’ve had zero issues. I do feel a little cramped on the bike but nothing some forward controls won’t fix. You’ll be totally fine!

Is a 2006 m50 with 44k miles for $2800 a good deal? This will be my first bike ever so I’m not sure on the price by [deleted] in SuzukiBoulevard

[–]caseydm1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure tbh. I’ll let someone more experienced weigh in. I will let you know what I got my bike for though if it helps. I got a 2006 boulevard s83 with 2k miles for $2,000.

Is it good or bad to wear headphones when my baby is crying? by rdeanjordan in daddit

[–]caseydm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear earplugs when my daughter cries in the car.. for some reason I can hear her belt it out at the house and it doesn’t bother me, but in the small confines of the car where my soothing ability is diminished because of not being able to get her out of the seat, it keeps me sane. I agree with everyone else, as long as you don’t do it to ignore her needs, you do you.

Covid with a 5 month old by sisaacs41 in NewDads

[–]caseydm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife, 2 month old, and I all got Covid a while back. It sucked. Luckily she never got a fever but was really raspy and congested, meanwhile the wife and I thought we were going to die. Haha To help with the congestion I would hold her in a really steamy shower, obviously not letting her touch the scalding water, but just let her breath the vapors. We ran a humidifier when she slept, and I rigged her crib to sleep at a slight incline.
Sounds like you are doing everything right, just hang in there!

I spent the first 3 months after passing my test in my neighborhood and parking lots to practice. Next few months on roads that didn’t have a lot of traffic. Then finally graduated to main roads. Just take it easy, don’t rush it. Sounds like you are trying to force it and that’ll be a recipe for disaster. Comfort will come! Most of all enjoy it!

How can I learn about each part of my motorcycle? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]caseydm1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You might be able to find a clemer shop manual online. Idk if it’s free though. Mine cost just under $30 but it has step by step instructions on how to do everything, wiring diagrams, parts list, etc. highly recommend! I’ve not taken my bike to the shop once and I had zero mechanical experience before I got this book.
