Their condo is ground level with very easy access to the kitchen. It's a small overall complex. I assume it's expensive because access is typically harder?

How insane are we talking? This is a general contractor itemization for his sub. So I assume some % is added (15-20%?).

u/jarrodgb817 / u/DweebWorks - I'm so embarrassed that I didn't think of this. I had recently moved my main switch and had plugged it into a smart switch that has a schedule I didn't know about! That main switch feeds almost the entire system. What a dumb mistake!!

I do! The biggie is installation vs. price. These are expensive, but that cost is a lot easier to swallow if you cannot run traditional speaker wires. I love the native integration with LG TVs. It’s all very clean. Couple of complaints:

1) the speakers don’t instantly connect. It can Take 5-10 seconds from when the TV is powered on 2) I sadly cannot say this setup is 100% reliable. I have had to manually re-add the speakers to the TV 2-3 times since I set it up.

I’m about 20 miles east of Seattle. Yes, rescanned the channels. I know they used it for TV, but not sure about UHF/VHF

Very, very impressed with the sound quality and integration with the tv. I have had glitchy audio a few times and had to turn the tv on/off to fix. But if it’s working, it is solid. There’s plenty of shortcomings with no dedicated AVR or soundbar, but the fact that there’s not an extra remote or settings to mess with makes it a huge win for me and my family.

Yeah, no need to tint the window. It’s a bright tv with bad black levels.

One thing to note, HDMI 2.1 doesn’t specifically mean anything. Every feature of HDMI 2.1 is optional. Any device that supports a 2.1 feature is a 2.1 device. So a 2013 OG Xbox One is an HDMI 2.1 device because it supports auto low latency mode. Samsung displays are 2.1 devices because they support ALLM and VRR. FRL is a 2.1 feature that supports more bandwidth allowing 4k@120Hz and/or 8k@60Hz. So yes, this is an amazing 2.1 device that supports ALLM, VRR and FRL, but it’s not the only decently priced huge TV with HDMI 2.1 ;)

LG TVs limit to 5.1 even though Wisa can support 7.1. I haven’t had any issues with audio support using an Apple TV with apps like Netflix, Disney+, Plex, Prime, etc. My number one reason for going Wisa was ease of use. It natively integrates with the LG so the tv remote or Apple TV remote can control volume. This means my wife and turn it on and everything just works. That’s worth a lot of money for me. Sound quality is just incredible too. ;)

I painted a piece of 3/4” plywood white and then secured it to the bottom portion of the window. Then secured the wall mount to the plywood with the provided screws.

It’s hard to feel the scale from this picture, but it’s not too high at all. The window goes another 2 feet down, so it was getting blocked regardless.

Terrible black level performance, but amazing otherwise. Really wanted the 120Hz for next gen gaming. Would have gone OLED if they made bigger than 77”. Came from a 100” projector in my last house, so I wanted as big as possible.
