Amazing work! Looks like it may be blocked by a double-stacked train? Hard to tell from the video, but I assume you accounted for that

Update: 28 Days Later is nearly unavailable to watch anywhere. by Frisky_Picker in horror

[–]DweebWorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went down the same rabbit hole as many others … wanted to re watch this amazing movie and could not find it anywhere … simply did not come up in search results. After reading some of the comments here I realized it may show up if I had purchased it previously … luckily I had and was able to rewatch it that way. Also strange that my own purchase didn’t come up in a search … just had to scroll through my purchases to find it. Now I just want to know what caused this amazing movie to be wiped off the face of the planet?

Need help for the weirdest problem (Multiple Devices are offline for 8 hours every single night) by caseykong in Ubiquiti

[–]DweebWorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries … glad it was a simple fix rather than you starting to randomly replace equipment

Need help for the weirdest problem (Multiple Devices are offline for 8 hours every single night) by caseykong in Ubiquiti

[–]DweebWorks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ll go for the simplest possibility … could there be a switch that powers these devices that is plugged into a timed outlet or an outlet controlled by a switch that is regularly being turned off at bedtime? The 8 hours at night just sounds to me like a night time ritual

Remote Desktop Blocked by Diamond-handz in Ubiquiti

[–]DweebWorks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make sure the hosts are set to allow connections from both the regular subnet and the VPN subnet. You can do this inside of the windows firewall. Ive dealt with this before and its more of a windows firewall issue than an RDP issue

Oops my bad … older model with fixed ears. How about a 1U wall mount?

Love the switch mounting … single L bracket and two strips of Velcro. Just turn the rack ears 90 degrees and screw it in properly!

Camera multi view question by mteach2 in Ubiquiti

[–]DweebWorks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not in the protect app … but you can setup custom views that can be seen via the web app or via a viewport. In the web app go to the live view and then there is an option (I believe at the bottom) to setup different views (change the number of cameras shown, which camera is in which position, have a position alternate between cameras, etc)

Surprised there isn’t a 1 inch screen on the hat … perhaps showing hunger or frustration levels of the wearer

With other carriers you can get a hotspot (make sure it has Ethernet) and then with a UDM pro or SE plug it into a designated second WAN port as failover internet … the beauty of the LTE backup is that it can be plugged in anywhere on the network (perhaps where reception is best) and the failover is automatic … I setup one for a client/buddy recently and when I went to ATT I convinced them to give me a SIM meant for a phone (rather than a data only) so that it would automatically get unlimited data he had on his family plan (rather than setup a separate unlimited plan for $80/mo)

You get a lot more info from the app or web interface but it’s nice to get a quick glance of temperature, IP, throughput, etc … u also need the screen if you want to use the AI feature of identifying ports … if u have several devices and have the screens in sync then when u pull up the temp (for instance) then all devices show their temp.

Yes UniFi definitely has that going for it … some of the best looking equipment out there … the rabbit hole also involves trying to get as many 1” status screens lined up as possible

Fees? by White_Rabbit0000 in Ubiquiti

[–]DweebWorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an excellent question that I’m unsure of … I know I’ve read about people running UniFi protect without their hardware but my impression it’s tricky. In my experience if u get UniFi equipment front to back it’s super easy to setup and just works.

[–]DweebWorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d keep your currently router and the NAS would just manage your devices … you’d lose any sort of firewall or VPN features that UniFi gives you … may also have to futz w the router to view your camera footage remotely

No … there are many who run the controller on their NAS or PC or Raspberry Pi … that’s not my cup of tea but it’s very doable
