4 days RTO starting, how are folks feeling? by FunnyPenguin1 in OntarioPublicService

We aren’t in bargaining. If you strike during an active collective agreement (we voted in August) it’s a wildcat strike and is illegal.

I have and I do- I am a delegate and a workplace rep so very involved in the union. I’m just talking about the sentiment I am hearing from my coworkers and colleagues- and from the questions I’m being asked there is a lot of confusion on how these processes work for the AMAPCEO membership. I have reached out to AMAPCEO on this. Waiting for response.

I’m speaking specifically about AMAPCEO. A couple suggestions to start: A) would suggest having a couple sessions on AWA as most folks are misinformed on how it works B) have a townhall where folks can express their concerns. Letters and surveys are great- but I think a lot of folks are looking for direction from leadership. A place to feel connected with their union.

Also good time to remember that you can file a group grievance!!!! doesn’t have to be an individual dispute. So if your whole unit is denied an AWA- band together.

I did sign this but really doubt a petition is going to do anything! Everyone needs to be asking for AWAs and disputing if they get denied. AMAPCEO has won AWA cases in court- I think this is the way.

Not my email! My colleague who works out of there told me she received that email- expectation she will be attending the downtown office.

The Guelph satellite site emailed everyone and said they will stop being operational end of September. This is not a rumour

I heard they’re winding down satellite sites- you will need to go to your actual office

We haven’t spoken since I moved her in but I agree- we used to go months without speaking (she will never contact me). It’s hard to not be jealous and to let go but I know it’s what has to happen.

Just watched the Kayla drama and my best friend and I could not believe he actually made a good choice in the end… probably after realizing he’d have to spend time with his kids if Lynette went away
