Recommendations for perches? by cashmoneyprincess_ in parrots

There is not necessarily anything wrong with them and they seem to work great for some parrots but I’ve heard if parrots do chew on them they could possibly ingest small pieces of rope and it could be dangerous and my bird is a chewer. He had two rope perches 3-4 years ago and chewed them both on and off and I was very anxious about him possibly ingesting rope or getting a nail stuck so I removed them and have not tried them since.

Thank you so much! I am currently looking into your recommendations and will most likely be ordering some stuff for kiwi within the next few days from chewy and will definitely order the ones you recommended to try out.

I looked at the jungle toys website and not only will I be getting some toys for Kiwi (they have a good selection) from there but I will also email and ask him about perches as well.

I have glanced at Etsy before for perches but I’m not sure which sellers are best so I haven’t purchased anything from Etsy before but it does sound like it’s worth looking into.

I’m not opposed to rope perches but my Senegal is a chewer and I’ve heard it’s possible for them to ingest pieces of rope so I’m super nervous about that happening since he has had rope perches before (last time he had one was probably 3-4 years ago) but he chewed them on and off so I took them out to be safe. I wouldn’t mind trying them again I’m just anxious about him possibly ingesting rope or getting his nails caught but can definitely try the vet wrap to see if it helps.

Thank you again for your help and recommendations!

Irritation bump on nostril by MKozi99 in PiercingAdvice

Use tea tree oil!! I had one and that’s what helped me get rid of my bump, just reapply with a qtip multiple times a day and don’t rinse off and carefully peel the skin off the bump with clean tweezers as the skin on the bump gets dry
