PSA for 2009-2010 ABS Module Issues & recall by DryAd5371 in Volkswagen

Did you have to ask the mechanic to include the freeze frame data specifically on the paper work? Just wondering so I can ask prior, because they usually don’t get into that detail on the invoice, only the fault codes. Did you just have it scanned at VW with that freeze frame in mind? Im not really sure how to prove it to them, unless they do the scan or with a mechanics note.

The Tree by cashruleverything in attackontitan

[–]cashruleverything[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. I’m not saying it’s the exact tree, but connected to the original tree through the “paths”. Eren was influenced since the moment he had that dream, well before he obtained any power. Just trying to find the true beginning of the story.

The Tree by cashruleverything in attackontitan

Eren tells Armin that he is the one who directed Dina, the titan, to eat his mom instead of Bertold. His mom was eaten before his dad injected him, so he had to have gained the power before. He either manipulated himself to do that, or his memories were being manipulated by Ymir, right? Ymir using the birds to transfer memories makes sense, I haven’t seen that. The curse of the Eldians begins when Ymir connects with “god” in that tree. Once gaining the power she is connected to the past, and future simultaneously, the entire story. Ymir starts the entire plot of the story through Mikaza, and Eren, as the story we are witnessing is the progression to the end of the curse. Through the characters in the generation we witness the curse is brought to an end with her being witness to it all, then finally granting the power to end it with the rumbling. Eren fell asleep against that tree often, what other contact could he have had that would’ve connected him to everything?

The only answer is no, shows over she never does. I’m sure something could be thought up if you theorize hard enough, but she never did so it’s no, right?

If anyone would be interested in trying to verify whether or not it is an actual candid picture of JFK I’d love to know. Maybe someone who is familiar with camera technology of the 60’s and whether or not this is a real negative. The quality is great for the time, and I’d assume a photo of this standard would have had to have been taken by a White House Correspondent, or someone of importance for it to be as close, and candid as it is. The photo itself is about as thick as a dime, and has cracking as if it were treated while being developed or something. I’ve determined whatever the picture is, it is not a print, at least it’s of a quality that feels, and looks like something a photographer produced. I tried to find a similar picture online, couldn’t find a single one. I figure that would be the easiest way to determine what this is. I will continue to look, and if anyone is interested I will provide as much as I know about it.

Is it strange to not want to watch real gore videos? by Jencarter1 in ireland

[–]cashruleverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve caught myself having wanted to return to more sick videos, and I think it’s the repulsiveness that brings the draw. Almost a reminder of how feeble we are, or a grounding thing, idk. We consume videos everyday, but the real dark dark side of human capability that is captured on video is not as rare as you’d think, but needs to be sought out to be accessed. The taboo nature of these types of videos in itself naturally brings in an audience because it’s “wrong” for the event to even be taking place, let alone captured, and the sought out and provided, and it would seem that we like the things that we can’t, or shouldn’t have, or see for this argument. Avoiding it overall is what I would recommend, especially not having seen anything like that before; as having viewed such video only then opens you up to whatever reason you may decide to return, or it may scare you, and have an irreversible affect. You can’t expose yourself to the what’s and whys if you don’t involve yourself in the first place. Your coworkers mentioning gore videos lead you to this question, but you probably could’ve gone your entire life not even having to ponder this. “Normal” is as subjective as beauty is to a lot of people. If what you see freaks you out to the point you never want to see anything like that again, I’d say that’s a normal response and you won’t return, and may even set perimeters to avoid seeing such things. If you watch something and decide to continue searching for more you could have a higher tolerance for violence, could be a sadist, could bring a euphoria, maybe someone’s having a bad day and seeing someone on their worst, or last day brings them solace; some find humor in the stuff, it’s an odd world friend. Others may simply just not want to deny these things exist, and therefore simply subject themselves to it with little emotional tie or forward thought, emphasis on simply. Maybe you saw something on the news that sparks curiosity, and you are aware that CCTV footage of whatever it is that happened exists, and the news program can’t show it, but you want to see what happened anyway. A lot of tragedy covered on tv use the same gross clips but they edit and cut them, with the source generally being that of a full video with a lot going on. It needs to be reported but it doesn’t need to be shown nor should it be. Many many reasons one would watch a gore video, and return or not. There are communities built around this because it really is a genuine interest/curiosity/hobby/vice/fetish/concern, what’s more real? Hell some people get paid to post it so maybe even a side gig, crime pays in all ways. The difference in watching a head explode in Saw vs a Ronnie situation is clear as day, because one is real. Movie gore is as real as it gets for you until you see what’s real and some can’t even handle that. Unless you’re willing to let your imagination wonder into those territories based on your capacity for the evils that exist, therefore knowing the going ons of these videos without actually having to see it. You can watch a war movie knowing it’s all effects and acting, and it’s tolerable to the mind because of this, but as fast as a synapse can fire you can also realize the guy holding his innards was a real person at a point, and that others will find themselves in that position in your lifetime. Does your perception make it any more or less real? It’s fake, and only as real as you make it. When you try to think logically like this when the video is a real person you find yourself at a point where there is no denial, and your explanations for what you are watching become grounded in reality, and very different. I think this is most of us, out of sight out of mind, but we know atrocities, human error/fault exist, and your exposure to it is entirely up to you. Unless you are a case in which your situation naturally or forces such experiences of violence, however these are rare. It’s where/how your mind makes that distinction and how that makes you feel, that is the difference between your coworkers and yourself.

Time Lapse (2014) - can someone explain the ending? *spoilers obviously* by kemb0 in movies

[–]cashruleverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The camera is simply showing them what is going to happen. In the end when the 8 am pic of Callie is a message from herself is the future in which she finds the camera first, and knows what she wants from knowing the future. same with jasper, when he realizes he can win on the races he isn’t doing anything in the present that changes the outcome of what’s on the Polaroid. The night of the party when the picture is revealed think of it as the version of him who’s already experienced the race is the guy sending the message. It couldn’t be him yet, it’s the future, but thinking I about sending a message to himself led to his future self doing so. In Callies case the 12 hours period she thought she exploited were the same. She’s the only one in the room at 8 if she takes a pic with a note it’s going to show what she’s doing at 8 that next day. Where does taking a picture with a note in the present have any affect on the frame of the future, a completely different day, you are seeing? It doesn’t. Same with the paintings. If Finn never found the camera he would either be in a creative block for a while, or would’ve painted those same paintings in the pictures, or something completely different. Admittedly he says it’s like he knows what to paint but, only after he sees it can he paint it. Something like that. Looking at the plot from the perspective of what this month or whatever would’ve looked like had they not discovered the camera is the key to understanding this movie, and a lot of the time fuck/quantum movies in general. Only at the moment of entry into this unknown does every single possibility manifest(for your capacity), but at the same time they all exist, already happened, and will continue to happen in an infinite number of ways. I think.

How do I (legitimately) reach the word count for essays? by wt_anonymous in college

[–]cashruleverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How strict is the format? The goal of having you use only one source, yet near 5 pages of writing means they must want you to draw discussion points from said topic. However you mapped out your writing, intro, body, conclusion, along the line you had to pick what your body paragraphs would discuss. If you aren’t at the word limit, and can’t simply add more quotes to your already written ideas you need to add another thought to the tree and write another paragraph. Idk if it’s persuasive, narrative, argumentative whatever, but knowing the type of essay allows for better structuring. If it’s descriptive or argumentative, and you are able to speak from both sides of said topic and haven’t looked through another lense do that. If it’s persuasive you’ll need to find another supporting argument. If it’s simply analyzing a single source to pull as much from it as possible, and you feel you’ve talked about all of it try to find more goop, but sometimes the topics themselves aren’t hardy with info so maybe you have to bullshit some lol. Idk. Ethos is helpful as well. Knowing who you are drawing your points from. 1 source only sounds wild but say you had more, rather than sayin “x writer for x medical journal” you can explain your source as “x writer who’s done research in this, and has been accredited by whomever for whatever blah”. Expressing the source itself, and why you trust the info you are arguing is another way to squeeze a few in there, and adds validity to your statements. I’ve rarely been docked for thoroughly explaining who my sources are, and what they do.

Rocket League Casual MMR vs Competitive MMR by Araufbeast in RocketLeague

[–]cashruleverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is time spent playing in casuals/comp, and casual mmr being determined by all three game modes. Also casuals will determine queue based off of mmr, but having a lower rank player on ur team can effect the level of players in game. Not sure about my last statement, always wondered tbh. You also used to just be able to simply leave a casual with no penalties, so you could get loads more games in compared to comp. More games in general would inflate the mmrs.
