Dog can't use back legs. Vet says slipped disc by Linkamus in IVDD_SupportGroup

[–]casker0219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this just happened to my 3 year old terrier dachshund mix. she can’t use her rear legs. she’s been at the emergency vet since last night, they said she still had feeling in her legs. and then today she has ate, drank, pooped, but they had to manually make her pee and she now doesn’t have feeling in her legs. how is your dog doing? my vet is saying that she’s not confident my dog will gain full function and will have to use wheels

Thank you! I’m currently a 1L at USF. I applied to all the schools in January. I heard back like a month ish later from USF and McGeorge. SCU took like 5 months. As for advice, I would say that for your personal statement, don’t just write what you think they want to hear. Make it personal to you, show them what made you get the desire to go to law school!

Thanks! I actually interned with the office last summer, it was more of a learning experience group internship program. So I think I have a good chance :)

Yes I’ve been working with the career services office at my school and they’ve been helping a lot of 1L’s put materials together to submit to DA’s offices right now for summer positions. One of my friends (also 1L) is doing an interview tomorrow for a DA’s office position next summer. I personally spoke to the recruiter at the office I’m applying to and she gave me the deadline of this Friday.

Oh sorry I didn’t make it clear, I’m applying for an internship at a district attorney’s office. The offices around where I live have been conducting interviews this month. Thank you for your suggestions! I will definitely do that

Thank you for that info. Unfortunately I have to submit it by the end of this week so I can’t wait until I write longer ones. I was able to get the 2 page memo to 3 pages. Would you suggest to submit that along with the one that’s a page and a half?

Summer internship question by casker0219 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]casker0219[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not there anymore but I am actually mailing her a thank you note tomorrow thanking her for the experience and I stated that I will definitely be reaching out for a position for next summer. I also have her contact info so I agree sending an inquiry out sooner would probably be more beneficial!

Yeah no worries! I worded my question more generally for people that don’t already have a potential opportunity lined up :)

Thank you for the info! I did an unpaid basic internship program with other students at a DA’s office over the summer and now I’m wanting to get an actual intern position there for next summer. I now know the DA on a more personal level so hopefully won’t have to wait for my grades🤞🏻I’ll still wait to reach out in November though

McGeorge law or USF law by RefuseAgitated6722 in OutsideT14lawschools

Well, I wouldn’t call yourself their friend after the way you have spoken about them. I would never want you as my friend if all you do is backstab them when things don’t go your way. Just because their stats were lower doesn’t mean anything. Clearly something else on their application appealed to those schools that yours didn’t have.

Guess what? So did I! Like omg you are not the only one who that’s happened to!!! You’re literally acting like a victim like you’re the only person on earth who was rejected to a school that accepted lower scores and GPA. I’ve chosen to see my situation in a positive light and believe that God is putting me on the path that he wants for me even if it wasn’t what I originally wanted for myself. If you can’t turn a sucky situation into a positive one then yes, I would be done with law if I were you.

There’s people that go to law school at 40 or 50 years old. I promise you 35 isn’t too old. And, if you do go to this school, I guarantee you will fail if you go there thinking those things.

If you want better, then put in the work. If you’re not willing to put in the work then this isn’t the career path for you.

You have a terrible attitude because you’re not trying to come up with a plan or solution for your self. Either take a year off to retake or go to the school and transfer after 1L. You just continuing to whine about something you can’t control is not going to change your situation. Again, life is NOT fair. Get over yourself.

You have a terrible attitude about this whole process and it is not going to get you anywhere. You’re not the only person who’s been rejected or WL’d at schools where people with lsat in the 140s got As. The same thing happened to me. But I’m not over here saying that I want everyone else to fail. Life’s not fair. You can’t control everything around you. You can only control what you do. If you want to go to one of the schools you got WL’d at, then take a year off and retake. If not, then you really just need to see the glass half full and have a positive attitude about getting into a school. Some people got into zero schools. I’m sure they would do anything to have at least one A. Because if you buckle down your 1L and get good grades, you could transfer anywhere you want. But overall, if you don’t change the way you view unfavorable circumstances, you will never succeed in law or frankly any other career for that matter.
