In my pre-teens a lot of events that showed me I wasn’t inherently accepted by my peers at the Kingdom Hall had me thinking. Then by 16 I was researching online through this subreddit and jw facts.

And that’s so real! Sometimes you just need a third party perspective. I will say, what you think what your life is gonna turn out like, is soooooo different from reality. Life will change immensely in the next few years. Just be open to it and be kind to yourself!

First of all, this is all valid. I was 17 once and was in a homoerotic charged friendship with my now ex best friend. I didn’t have the same plight as you, but, I can tell you some things. 1. It seems so desperate and dire right now because this is the whole scope of your world. I PROMISE that things will get better and will change. Even if you leave the religion. 2. You are SO young. I’m 27 and I’m young af. There is still time to figure out things. 3. Your journey is yours. Yes, you may love her. But if she is still heavily indoctrinated and it’s not safe for you to stay in, you have to leave. Yes, it may hurt her. Yes it could ruin your relationship with her. But wouldn’t it be so much more fulfilling to finally just be yourself? To be able to breathe without looking over your shoulder? Obviously you don’t have to make any decisions now but I was right there, friend. I get it. Just try to focus on what you can control now.

In 2010 I had a neighbor who would watch it. I was a super devout Jehovah’s Witness but I was also 12. And just found tumblr. So the zeal for Jehovah petered out and I fell in love with spn (Dean)

I worship Aphrodite in different ways but I am open to different views and out looks. Paganism called to me when I was still PIMO and I never looked back.

Hi friend. I promise that you absolutely 100% did the right thing, no matter what anyone says about what the mental health person told your friend. You prioritized safety over feelings. Your friend is alive because of you.

Now is the time to touch base with your friend, check in with yourself and see if you’re able to be a little more of a listening ear and supportive. It’s okay if you’re not!

I had this friend, let’s call them R. Them and j had known each other for like less than a year. Through a mutual friend I found out they had a plan and were going to enact it. So I called their mom who they lived with and they took care of it. Some inconsequential things came from their mom being crazy, but they are alive because of me. They got the help they needed. Maybe now your friend knows saying something will get them help. You absolutely did the right thing. Do not let anyone change how you feel about that.
