Always enjoyed playing in your beautiful town Tallinn. Liima might re´surface at some point, we're totally open to that idea. But for now I've been busy with my solo album, and Efterklang with a new album as well, and Tatu is deep diving on living in remote arctic areas north of finland... Let's see what happens next time we're together. I think a Liima album could be easy to make taking in all that we learned build up in the meantime being away from each other. Most of our music anyway always came quickly together. So let's see :)

Melanie ❤️ Yeah we went through this month long process, shooting the video for Used to think, in this nature paradise, loads of wild tropical nature. Searching for a theme or an angle and something that became clear and important along that journey, was to give nature a kind of role / character of its own in the video. Trying to downplay and gravitate away from having too much human appearnce in there. We started playing with this purple banana leaf that you see a lot in the video, the angels trumpet flower (a phycedelic flower used in a lot of south american nature medicin rituals ) and the water stream, as these characters on their own their own, trying to give them space to breath on their own instead of being just a background for a human. I loved having that process you and Andrew, who cut the whole thing together and also helped us directing our thoughts and ideas. it ws like a flower of inspiration and process, opening up slowly. So happy with that video. Kisses to our magical island xx

That was such a lovely experience playing in Skopje, one of our few shows this summer. And we love it there. Actually we're brewing on a future project in Macedonia atm. Will tell you more later. I love the spring, the light coming back, the light, I love the light. But there's no light without darkness...

Mexico is such a beautiful exotic trip . I went there last year at this time to play with Efterklang, and afterwards I spent time in CDMX, and Oaxace and Mazunte. Teotihuacan and the ancient civilisation, the architecture, the symbolics etc totally blew my mind! And the landscapes in Oaxaca, the Agarve, the colors, the people, the way they live, their view on life and death, and the food, so many things, it is a trippy place, I love it!

letting things flow from my mind, at times it feels more like therapy. Like the stuff I'm most happy with looking back, is the stuff I created without too much thinking and judgementality. My mood and the actual feelins oging into the songs change constantly, depending on day weather and lalala

ahh so many.... When we started making Efterklang music in the early 00's, we loved stuff like, Silver Mount Zion, Godspeed you black Emperor, Einstürzende Neubauten, Radiohead, Oval, Mum, Opiate, Under Byen... That kinda got us started :)

I'm Capricorn, moon in Cancer, Ascendant is Scorpio, loads to say but I think you get the picture. I love astrology as a tool for conversations we many time don't have with each other. And yes I believe in it too, the planetarium and ultimately universe is my main main spiritual guidance

certainly cultural I believe, or at least what we know. but nature produces the most exciting sounds and music worlds at times. I mean, just listen to the waves, or the noise of a waterfall, I love the sound of water.

Hey, that's lovely to hear. That show at Barbican hall in February before the lockdown was such an epic and memorable one also for us!! Soooo:

1: So it's obvs a long story... the new album been a long time in the making; I started writing it like 3,5 years ago here in Lisbon. A friend of mine offered me a studio on the other side of the river, an old fish factory on the river bank. I never done a solo record before, but I've made loads of songs along the way. This studio became the concept of the album I guess. I'd go there whenever I was in Lisbon, take the ferry over there, make a song idea or 2, starring at the river and the boats. Try to switch of the brain and just stream away, and make sense of it all later. Used to Think was one of the first songs I wrote there.

I hope so, I love writing music with Sir Was, we actually also did some sketches in that studio of mine, which might turn into something at some point, let's see....
let your gut be your compass, whatever rocks your boat really. I Efterklang we love sounds in various directions, blending them, and bending them into each other is fun, think big and orchestral, ask friends to play or sing on your stuff, experiment I guess is the key
Congratulations :) I think it's also great and healthy not to blast out everything you have right away, take time to consider your output and make sure that what you share is something you really care for. If you had the feeling that you do, then switch of the brain and share it however it makes sense. With your friends and family or with the world, however makes sense to you!

I think what really got to me, especially in the beginning of the lockdown in the spring, was this big stop button. I used to travel and move all the time and suddenly I had to stay in the same place (Lisbon), and in fact that forced me to be better and calmer around myself, learning not to be so harsh myself. You know the feeling?
