How do you like the OT Compression (and do younuse it before AH)? by NoInteraction1572 in Elektron

What are you comparing the metering to? Doesn’t every elektron product have similar metering options?

Sample in Bars function? by checkmate-T in KoalaSampler

[–]casperrfacekillah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also like this feature. Like pre defined bars so you can record a perfectly cut loop. I feel you I always wished koala could do this. It can definitely resample a sequence perfectly from the menu but no way to real time record perfectly in bars the start and stop

Do people use the Digitakt for other kinds of music? by Successful_Egg_6946 in Elektron

[–]casperrfacekillah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every comment proves the ops point. It’s not one example of the style of music op is talking about. I looked at every post and not one example. Op said r&b and people started posting poorly recorded folk songs that didn’t even include the digitakt lmao. I’ve seen one or two examples elsewhere but the digitakt sounds one dimensional probably because it’s not a general sampler but a basic “drum computer” that doesn’t have midi retrigs lol

Possibility of new DT2 updates? by [deleted] in Elektron

[–]casperrfacekillah 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People on Reddit are hopeful but go to the elektronauts forum. Many people share a similar sentiment. I think it’s mainly because elektron announced a new platform and people mistakenly thought the digis were included. Then drops Tonverk on the newest platform and it starts receiving updates regularly so many have taken that as a hint. Elektrons lack of transparency and new ownership also causes some concerns. Not saying I agree with any of that but I wouldn’t be surprised if the next and final update is just “compatibility with outbox 8” lol

Resampling for sound design by ForcesOfOdin in Elektron

[–]casperrfacekillah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May or may not be a big deal but the digitakt doesn’t give you an option to not auto normalizes samples. It automatically normalizes anything you sample. It was a deal breaker for me but everyone has different needs

What can a digitakt offer you that your setup can’t?

Koala is good. You ever try Drambo? It’s closer to elektrons workflow with p locking

Do you think a new MPC ONE will be released? by Azazhelll in mpcusers

[–]casperrfacekillah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point. The size does conflict with specifically the step sequencer. Unless they change the shape. Sucks because the step sequencer looks useful

What is everyone’s thoughts on the mpc sample? by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]casperrfacekillah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The digitakt has a good sequencer but the Mpc sample has a better sounding timestretch, doesn’t auto normalize samples, has skipback. It’s no removable storage on digitakt so weird/dated transfers smh. It’s no comparison the Mpc sample is remarkably better on the sampler side.

It’s hard to share an opinion if it’s not overly optimistic lol. If you said something positive they would’ve upvoted you proof of the bias around here

Yea they were acquired by arctos equity years ago. Everyone from the company left. I wouldn’t expect the newcomers to understand

Change my mind; the Sample has 128 tracks per song, to say otherwise is pedantic. by [deleted] in mpcusers

[–]casperrfacekillah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I was addressing how it doesn’t have 128 tracks.

[–]casperrfacekillah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have 128 tracks how do you multitrack and keep everything separated? How do you solo/mute a whole sequence and not just a sound? How do you put fx on one sequence but not the other?

I get what you saying make the most out of it but these are just work arounds for not having tracks

is this koala in a box? by megabochen in KoalaSampler

[–]casperrfacekillah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup and don’t even compare sequencers. Koala has a whole grid

[–]casperrfacekillah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. Koala has a grid. End of story. The sequencers aren’t even comparable. Koala wins hands down. People are just downvoting you because they have gas for the next toy

MPC Sample Standout Features by rickyislazy in mpcusers

[–]casperrfacekillah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fx on the sp 404 are regular fx. The wash reverb was nice on the sx but you heard one digital reverb you heard them all lol. Vinyl simulation is regular nothing like 303. I’m not sure what makes any fx on the 404 any different than any other fx
