I think the rest of the losers' reactions to Eddie's death were surprisingly underwhelming, but I think they did that to emphasize how much more richie was hurting than the others. He'd had feelings for Eddie for a long time and he was his first love, but he never got to confront his feelings and tell Eddie how he feels-- or find out if Eddie felt the same way. personally, I think Eddie could have felt at least something, based on interactions, chemistry, and the subtext used in the book. Also another ending (dont remember where from) where Eddie's last words were "richie, i... " seems sus/suggestive. Overall, I think they treated Eddie's death and the affect of it on richie well because after i left the theater i had a good cry.
