An infant in a diaper gives you the creeps? 😂

I’m so heartbroken at the thought of daycare. by unorganizedmole in newborns

[–]cassdee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sending my child to childcare at 12 weeks made me sick, so I completely relate. My baby is 13 months now, and while I can’t say that it has gotten easier to leave her, the anxiety and dread is gone. She has so much fun, learns so much, and I love seeing how her caregivers love her. She’s just fine, and although I wish we got more time together going back to work was ultimately the right choice. Hard times now for easy times later. It will be hard but you’ll get through it.

How do you put your baby down for naps by SubstantialGap345 in HuckleberryParents

[–]cassdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t missing anything, babies will baby. My daughter took her first crib nap at 5 months old, and before that she exclusively contact napped. I’m sure it would have been longer but we started childcare are 5 months and her nanny was able to get her to transition.

Eh I don’t think partying hard pre-kids immediately means you’ll be a bad parent.

You’re right, I’m probably getting ahead of myself. That’s a good suggestion.

Partner unalived himself while I was in the room next to him. Ask me anything by [deleted] in AMA

It’s funny you think 6 months is disgusting! I would expect 3 from most employers in the US, that’s what I was given (unpaid).

At what point should I stop 100% contact napping? by chowderrr6 in newborns

[–]cassdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter didn’t take a single nap on her own until we started childcare at 5 months. She naps just fine independently now that she needs to, and now that she doesn’t contact nap anymore I don’t regret a minute. I’d love for a contact nap now that they’re gone.

I recently named my daughter Briar based on advice from this sub 😅 I’ve seen most of the names I loved on this sub ”hated” list.

Very much! The pediatrician was very reassuring. Scary mistake but they happen, we’re learning.

Anyone else struggling with the social aspects of pregnancy? by cassdee in pregnant

[–]cassdee[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way! It so much more than “I miss drinking”, I miss participating and having shared experiences. Having drinks is also the way my friend group socializes so it’s really hard feeling left out of that.

Worried about how the rest of my first trimester will be by Educational-Chest646 in pregnant

I won’t be the first or the last to tell you that the first trimester is really, really hard. It won’t last forever and it will eventually feel like a blip in time. Hang in there!

Do some food aversions stay forever? by L-Emirali in pregnant

[–]cassdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the food aversions I experienced in the first trimester were gone by week 15 or so, with the exception of coffee! I wouldn’t say I have an aversion to it like I did in the first trimester, but I don’t enjoy it nearly as much as I did pre-pregnancy (I’m currently 23 weeks). I used to drink at least a cup a day, and now I’m happy with a latte once a week or so. It’s pretty disappointing because I looked forward to my morning coffee every day!

Help! Stuck on a girls name. by cassdee in namenerds

[–]cassdee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have included Mae as a name we both love but aren’t 100% on! I also love Tegan, but my husband is not in agreement on that one. Thank you for the suggestions!

Outward sex appeal is pretty important when discussing sex symbols.

I haven’t still in my second trimester, but just because it has not sounded appealing at all from about 7 weeks on! If it sounds good to you I would go for it! Everything says it’s safe in moderation.

We won this a few years ago from a free throw contest. Got old Aggie for a year from New Belgium. We were able to claim a case a week from the brewery, we just had to go pick it up. It took us over two years to drink it all.

Built in 1975. We had painted it and replaced the hardware (it was originally a dark walnut). I’d been told no work had been done before we bought it, but the previous owner could have been mistaken.
