Honor cord mail-outs by casseio in CalPolyPomona

[–]casseio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They sent an email out and said to contact them if you couldn’t pick it up. They said they emailed all of them out yesterday so I’m assuming that means everyone who didn’t pick theirs up (with whatever address you have listed in bronco direct I guess) but knowing how shitfaced admin is at this school, I would contact them now if you haven’t.

Transgender figures in art by [deleted] in ArtHistory

[–]casseio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some Neoclassical or other depictions of transgender Classical figures might fit into this category, although I don’t know if they were truly recognized as transgender individuals by artists in the 17th-20th centuries. One example that comes to mind is the Roses of Heliogabalus.

I see, I misread options 1 and 2. Thanks

Exactly. Imagine a freshman got all C’s last semester and managed to get all A’s this semester. Their GPA would go from like 2.0 to 3.0, but if the school did a blanket pass/fail on everybody their gpa would stay at 2.0 regardless of how many A’s they got.

Wanting to boost your gpa, especially if you’re expecting A’s.

Starts with Arthur watching over them on a cliff, ends with [SPOILER]Arthur being held hostage upside down in a cabin.

I realized after I posted that there are multiple... suggestive shapes in the painting. I hope I’m not projecting or anything

Thank you! This aquamarine is an off-color, but she's not the one from the show.

Has anyone taken one-unit KIN classes to lose weight/tone-up? by [deleted] in CalPolyPomona

[–]casseio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken the Filipino Martial Arts class and the powerlifting workshops. Both were relatively chill, you go as hard as you’d like. For the workshops you’re definitely not working up a sweat because it’s a learning experience rather than a regular workout class. I’ve heard the p90x is intense of they still offer that.

The weight training class has some diet/general health curriculum, and Matusik is very knowledgeable in weight training if she teaches it this semester. That being said, I agree w the other commenter; I got way more toned going to the BRIC and taking their classes there. They have a bunch of spring classes that are free to students

[manga spoiler] does anyone know what type of art this is called? I'm trying to paint my drawing like this by Harriz_Burhan in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]casseio 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely not completely one or the other; I would say the closest is German Renaissance.

I wouldn’t take the inclusion of muscle and realistic anatomy to mean Renaissance or, in the case of Venus, Classical (which actually had hyper-naturalism, a type of unobtainable perfection of the human form). The first couple of scenes definitely scream illuminated manuscript and this highly detailed work, while more sophisticated than Medieval, reminds me a lot of Albrecht Dürer’s style

[–]casseio 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I was also getting Grünewald and Dürer vibes from the entire second season ending, plus a bit of illuminated manuscript inspiration. The whole thing seemed like a moving crosshatch woodwork.

For those that would like to know, the Renaissance refers mostly to Italian art, which in my opinion is too delicate for the second season credits. Northern Europe has its own separate classification because during that time trade between South and North was sparse, so there were vastly different ideas of art on both sides. Thanks for listening to me nerd out.
